The Chiefs determined the WR room still had a hole and addressed it in the draft. If we determine after the season our WR still has a hole, we will then address next year. Either in free agency or trading for a player or in the draft. We took a WR in the draft and signed one in free agency. Let’s see if they work out. See if Dotson can bounce back.

That's a lot to ask of a rookie on a team that was 2nd worst in the league last year.

I heard that both Robinson and Rodriquez both bulked up this offseason but I am not sure I remember the tweet correctly. For the sake of my blind homerism when constructing Commander heavy fantasy rosters, I hope we dont have a 3rd headed backfield.

Maybe this reveals my lack of football strategic acumen but what's so bad about featuring BRob with CRod spelling him and then Ekeler in 3rd down situations? Sorta makes sense to me.

I love our scat backs of the past but it was painful to see those guys run between the tackles to keep defenses honest. Code for running into a brick wall. The DC miffed why him game planning for run run short pass failed.

 

I wonder how many times we have seen a plodder run predictably between the tackles for no gain to start a game. Bonus trivia, how many also had a holding penalty. One of the worst plays to watch happen to your team.

I agree with you except for the fact that I'd like to see BRob spelled by CRod and not Ekeler. At this point in his career, I see Ekeler as a 3rd down back. I think he's best cast in that role. 

BRob's pass catching was one of the lone bright spots from last year's offense. I hope it doesn't go unnoticed by the new coaching staff. 

All of the chatter from the beat writers seem to indicate that they will aim for more balance in the offense, both because it's the right thing to do but will also help with Jayden's development. Something that the last regime failed to do with Howell.

I think you missed my point. We are now past the draft and there have been relatively few hires announced but there have been many people being let go. 

At this point in the offseason, I'd like to see Peters focus on hires so I'm hoping they come soon. And that many reinforcements are on the way!

I figured as much, but I'd like to hear of hires (many hires, actually) to our scouting dept. 

It's been one of the smallest and least resourced in the league. To me, that's a huge need and I'm hoping AP prioritizes it. The silence is worrisome.

It was interesting to hear that point because there is so much debate about Jayden running too much when he does leave the pocket.  But Trevor's point is this is so but Jayden doesn't leave the pocket period as much as the typical mobile QB.

 

QBs who throw off platform aren't per se vulnerable to injuries versus throwing from the pocket.  Injuries happen when mobile QBs run.  But I haven't noticed off platform is that much of an injury risk.

Just to be clear, is he suggesting that Jayden pass more when he leaves the pocket vs. run or that he simply needs to leave the pocket more often and either pass/run when he does? 

If it's the former, I would agree because it would spare his body. If it's the latter, I respectfully disagree.

My point was he’s good throwing off platform when he does do it.

 

The PFF’s guy point is also that he agrees hes good off platform.

 

But he took a diiferent approach to that point which is that Daniels hangs too much in thr pocket.

Stays in the pocket too much .... well, that's a new one. 

To me, if he can throw from the pocket and not hold onto the ball too long and move within the pocket, that's the preferred. He gets outside the pocket, the %ages go way down and he leaves himself open to injury.

I really only like the idea of trading draft picks for players if we are truly only one to two players away from competing for a championship. Since we are not anywhere close to that, seems stupid to trade for a WR this year.

You ever felt like you were getting ridden at work unnecessarily? And then you make little mistakes you usually don’t because you’re feeling pressure? I know I have at times. Not all the time. But it’s happened to me.

 

Now, imagine feeling that way week to week with a 250 lb linebacker running at you while you’re filling out TPS reports.

 

These are professionals and part of their growth is to figure out how to handle that stuff. And maybe he learned from last year. 
 

But I’m not willing to throw away a great rookie year because of a bad year with a lame duck regime.

 

I feel the same about Forbes, in some ways.
