The only reason why I'm hesitant to give up on Doctson in this offense is because we still need a red zone target.  Even if he's not going to help us move the chains, we still need someone who can go up and pull down a fade when we're up against the goal line.  He's the only one on the roster who fits that bill.

    Jordan Reed?

Just curious as to why you think the playbook is closed and why you think Jay is holding Alex back?  I'm not saying you're wrong... I just wonder where you're coming up with that thought?  Has it been reported?

Nope. Just my armchair amateur assessment.

Just felt like the offense was a lot more creative with Kirk. That might be just bias on my part or might be a real phenomenon (and possibly related to the fact that Alex is still new to the Skins).

So that being said, if there's somebody there in the first or second, they need to take him.  Cuz if you take a gander at the F WR class next year, it isnt pretty when it comes to starting WR types.  It's basically Golden Tate, Devin Funchess, Kelvin Benjamin, Randall Cobb, Quincy Enunwa, and Jermaine Kearse.

    I like Enunwa. He's a poor-mans Garcon.

I think Snyder said do something now or you're all fired. He needs butts in those empty seats.  This is a desperation move. And desperation moves rarely work.  We weren't as good as we thought we were after we beat-up on the Cardinals.  And we're not as bad as we think we are after we got beat-up by the Colts.  The Packers should beat us, but that was always the expectation, right?  Let's get a grip, even't if management can't.

Not your fault, but I chortle a little bit when I see the word "management" used to describe this dumpster fire of an organization. It's about the furthest thing from a properly managed team I've ever seen.

Between that and being one of the team poking around for trading for Gordon -- they seem to be in code red mode on WR.

    Pure panic.

That's the best way to manage a team.

I wonder what the corresponding move is. Which of our guys was more likely to go to IR?

    Good question.

Anyone know which of the two (Quinn vs Sims) has the more severe injury?

My guess is which is hurt worse. Gruden said yesterday they would know more today. Quinn being a returner might be a bigger blow. I wonder, do we have anyone else on the 53 (besides Crowder) that can to punt returns? Or will have to looks specifically at the PS for someone that can?

You beat me to it! Hopefully, an announcement/press release by the team is forthcoming that will let us know what the confirmatory tests for each of them showed and the prognosis.

  6. How much of the lack of WR involvement do we attribute to limited live game time Alex Smith has had in this offense? Recall that many here were concerned about the lack of playing time Gruden gave our starters during preseason considering we had a new QB.

Is it possible that Smith hasn't gelled with his offense yet and that's why our passing game looks so lousy?

    Kenny Britt

Jeremy Maclin (Alex Smiths receiver in Kansas City)

Brian Quick (familiarity with our offense)

    Dez Bryant

    Martavis Bryant

    Corey Coleman

    Kendall Wright

Aren't most/all of these guys outside of Quick and Dez on a team already? Are you suggesting we trade for one?

As well as he runs routes, I'd give it a shot, just to see how effective he could be out there.

I believe this is how Ertz and Gronk are used at times.

Creates matchup nightmares. You can still have Sprinkle lined up in the traditional TE spot to block and roll out for dump off pass, if need be.

I don't really mind this idea. If every NFL team can go for a third down back why not a third down TE or H-back. I mean it would key the defense, but since he almost never blocks on rushing plays anyway.

Apparently Sprinkle is looking more comfortable in camp so maybe that means we will have more flexibility, even on earlier downs.

As for Reed, we could split him out wide on 1st/2nd downs almost like an oversized WR.

I'm so ready for Barry to be gone I can taste it, but until that day comes, he needs to pull his head out of his ass and start coaching, game planning, and teaching. I don't want to see yet another one-n-done in post-season, and if we lose, it WILL be due to the defense; and if that happens, i'll fly there myself and pack his damn bags.

    Don't hold your breath.

Joe Barry will be here next year. Book it.

(to be honest, I also agree he should be at least on notice - but the fact is that he has no real ILBs or safeties to speak of)

  10. Arizona's house is on their 3rd string QB and they are in the playoffs. I want a house that can cope with injuries like that.

You're going to need people in the FO that are actually good at their jobs in order to get that, my friend.

  11. Of course Allen isn't a real GM and I have no idea why some of the fans here thinks he is. I hate Danny and I don't think he'll ever get it right. So many years of being a laughingstock, you'd think he would figure it out, but he hasn't. So I have given up hope for this terrible owner.

Of course he won't get it right or figure it out. He's just not that bright.

  12. I don't really have time right now to go into too much detail about my ideas on the revolutions in the Middle East and Northern Africa.

For the moment, I'll just say that I support those who seek freedom from government repression and massacre.

What's happening right now in that region is so amazing that it's almost like a dream coming true.

On the other hand, what those governments are doing to their people in response is like a horrible nightmare.

I want to do what I can to help these people out.

So I'm just trying to do my best to make sure that others know what's going on out there.

I hope my posts aren't bothering anyone. (I'm always open to criticism)

Not at all ... was just curious.

Glad to see someone maintaining the passion about it. Seeing Libya, Bahrain, and Syria crush their own people is as disheartening as seeing the Tunisians and Egyptians succeed was invigorating.
