Yeah, in a sense you can view the Harris regime as the equivalent of a hostile takeover of a terribly performing, poorly managed, on the precipice of outright failing formerly marquee organization.

First order of business is to put together an executive leadership team to oversee and manage reclamation of the organization-- enter Harris, AP, DQ, etc.

Next eject all underperforming liabililities (players, scouts, execs, etc.) and replace them with young, hungry, talented, go getters. This is the phase we're currently observing right now.

Yup, just like a corporate turnaround. Agree 100% with your take.

On a more positive note, it looks like there is writing on the wall for some players from the former regime. No surprise really but just points to the terrible drafting we have been forced to endure. For close to 2 decades.

As painful as it will be to deal with the fact that so many of Ron's draft picks sucked, at least now we are on the path to having all of that bad management changed (hopefully).

Another thing that would be good, Jayden can learn if the WR room this year isn’t the best. He can learn to try elevate his play and the play of the WRs.

Patrick Mahomes didn’t have that great of a wr room last year but he managed well enough and the Chiefs were still

    able to win it all.

The Chiefs determined the WR room still had a hole and addressed it in the draft. If we determine after the season our WR still has a hole, we will then address next year. Either in free agency or trading for a player or in the draft. We took a WR in the draft and signed one in free agency. Let’s see if they work out. See if Dotson can bounce back.

That's a lot to ask of a rookie on a team that was 2nd worst in the league last year.

PLAGARISM!  Happy to hear I am not crazy.  Robinson's emergence as a solid pass catching option IS a story. I always to go back to my annoyance with Perine asked to run full back dives every play by Jay only to be released and be a solid blocker and 3rd down back kicking Mixon an all down stud to the sideline. Because of his impressive girth he was typecast and the label stuck 👎 until he went to a functional organization. And super bowl me: is that Perine out there on their first drive??  Perine may be the least physical 240lb back ever. I remember seeing Perine as a rookie making a tough sideline catch and I knew he had to have some potential. He proved a 3rd down back didnt need to be tiny yet OCs have been banging their heads on the wall because their home run back couldnt pass pro for decades.  Robinson can play on all downs dammit and I'm here on that hill all day. OCs finally figured out to just let the scat backs run on 1st instead of get run over in PP on 3rd and long. Achane was born and the trend took the league by storm. But those guys get injured, predictably.

There is just something wrong about trotting your best player off the field because its 3rd and 5. A small victory for the D.

I heard that both Robinson and Rodriquez both bulked up this offseason but I am not sure I remember the tweet correctly. For the sake of my blind homerism when constructing Commander heavy fantasy rosters, I hope we dont have a 3rd headed backfield.

Maybe this reveals my lack of football strategic acumen but what's so bad about featuring BRob with CRod spelling him and then Ekeler in 3rd down situations? Sorta makes sense to me.

    🤷‍♂️

I think he was our best player last year.  I am excited to see Ekeler in the mix. No relief for DCs when BRob needs a breather.  CRod seems typecast as a typical bruiser with little to add in the passing game but I liked what I saw. Back on point we may for the first time in my fading recent memory have 2 all down backs. I have always wanted even 1 and let the OC not HAVE to run to be able to (play) pass.

I love our scat backs of the past but it was painful to see those guys run between the tackles to keep defenses honest. Code for running into a brick wall. It's a myth that the pass cannot be used to set up the run. I loved the OCs that would still get those 20+ carries logged after dissecting a defense with the pass to start games and forging a big lead. The DC miffed why him game planning for run run short pass failed.

I wonder how many times we have seen a plodder run predictably between the tackles for no gain to start a game. Bonus trivia, how many also had a holding penalty. One of the worst plays to watch happen to your team.

I agree with you except for the fact that I'd like to see BRob spelled by CRod and not Ekeler. At this point in his career, I see Ekeler as a 3rd down back. I think he's best cast in that role.

BRob's pass catching was one of the lone bright spots from last year's offense. I hope it doesn't go unnoticed by the new coaching staff.

All of the chatter from the beat writers seem to indicate that they will aim for more balance in the offense, both because it's the right thing to do but will also help with Jayden's development. Something that the last regime failed to do with Howell.

I mean, this was totally expected, right? Peters arrived too late in the year to make changes before the draft and so here we are post-draft and it’s game on. Call me crazy but if Peters thinks we can do better, then I’m gonna side with him!

I think you missed my point. We are now past the draft and there have been relatively few hires announced but there have been many people being let go.

At this point in the offseason, I'd like to see Peters focus on hires so I'm hoping they come soon. And that many reinforcements are on the way!

Between the FA additions and the massive coaching upgrade, I expect our D to be top half of the league this year. I think that's reasonable.

Caught up with Logan's new podcast.  He was especially high on Luke - comes off to him already like a polished veteran in practice

Having a former NFL WR as a father and a big brother who is the best RB currently in the league will help with that professionalism. It ain't too big for him, that's for sure.

I’d hate to give up draft capital but we can absorb the contract AND JD5 and him  have a prior relationship/friendship, AND our GM knows him. I think it’s a no brainer. That said, they said they aren’t trading him and I don’t think he holds out. But I would be offering something like a 3rd and 5th and if they don’t do it before the season and try to unload him before the deadline it’s dropping to much less.

Would be silly to trade any draft picks for anyone at this point. Stay patient and build through the draft. We are 2-3 years away from competing. Teams like that should not trade draft picks for vets.

Maybe they told them they can start to look elsewhere as AP plans to reshape the scouting department post draft.

I figured as much, but I'd like to hear of hires (many hires, actually) to our scouting dept.

It's been one of the smallest and least resourced in the league. To me, that's a huge need and I'm hoping AP prioritizes it. The silence is worrisome.

On a whim I compared Luke McCaffery's height and weight to Cooper Kupp's......did you know, they both have the exact same measurements? 6'2, 194 lbs. Luke ran a faster 40 combine time, 4.46 to 4.62.

So, by these numbers, McCaffery should turn out to be a slightly better pro than Cooper Kupp.

    Time is yours.

To be honest, I didn't realize Cooper Kupp was that tall.

I have some guarded optimism about Luke McCaffrey. I can't help but be pumped about the bloodlines if nothing else.

The point from Trevor from PFF that he leaves the pocket much less than some other mobile QBs and he's so good when he throws off platform that he should use that super power more.

It was interesting to hear that point because there is so much debate about Jayden running too much when he does leave the pocket.  But Trevor's point is this is so but Jayden doesn't leave the pocket period as much as the typical mobile QB.

QBs who throw off platform aren't per se vulnerable to injuries versus throwing from the pocket.  Injuries happen when mobile QBs run.  But I haven't noticed off platform is that much of an injury risk.

Just to be clear, is he suggesting that Jayden pass more when he leaves the pocket vs. run or that he simply needs to leave the pocket more often and either pass/run when he does?

If it's the former, I would agree because it would spare his body. If it's the latter, I respectfully disagree.
