  1. I'll never forget that KO Barbosa put on Burgos on Saturday night. Edson's got a few legendary finishes on his resume now. Unreal how delayed that reaction was.

I also was so happy for Charles Oliveira. I have been rooting for that kid from the start of his career.

PS- Tony Ferguson might be done, but how many of you guys (like me) knew as soon as that heel hook was in that Tony would not submit? I actually said it out loud. "Tony won't tap."

    Great card.

Suicide Squad is on TNT right now. I'm about halfway through and recording it so I can forward through ads.

So far it's pretty bad lol.

If you think that's bad you should watch the Harley Quinn movie. I just sat there shaking my head the entire time. Even worse than WW1984.

Well now you're being silly...your name says Chachie not Charlie... if this was a Scott Baio hating thread you could feel targeted...

Now if your name was Karen....thats a whole different thread...

My real name is Charlie.  🙂

Also- Am I a jerk for not really ever being crazy about Meghan Markle? She always seemed to me like an attention grabber.

I’ve accepted the fact that nothing is going to happen.

"Nothing will happen" has been my motto since mid-2017. It goes for congress too. Every time someone posts a complaint/expose/corrupt suspicion about conservative gov't on social media I reply with "Nothing will happen."

The biggest source of my agony is the liberal members of congress who (other than impeachment) just seem to continue a run of naivity and impotence throughout every clash with the criminals across the aisle. The January 6 insurrection is proving no different. I never hear a single mention made during hearings of the fact that the perpetrators are literally part of the investigative committees. CALL THEM OUT OR STFU and just admit you can't because they may have dirt on YOU.

Tales from the Loop.  Alternate reality anthology series that deals with time travel and advanced technology.  Rebecca Hall & Jonathan Pryce both deliver, hard.  Like a lot of low(er) budget sci-fi shows, it relies on drama first but does a good job of using the time travel stuff to tie into the story.  Not official yet, but word is a S2 is coming to Amazon Prime.

    I LOVED this show.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, it seems like all of the women's title "changes" were "shocks to the world" and huge upsets.

    Going back all the way to Rousey ;

Almost noone expected Rousey to lose to Holm

Same with Holm losing to Tate.

    And Tate losing to Nunes.

And in other division ; Cyborg losing to Nunes.

And that Polish girl, too. I can't remember her name, suddenly

So basically, the women's divisions are unpredictable and anyone's guess in a title match ;)

Of course all fights are that way to a degree, but especially very true in women's.

    Solid reply!

Megan Anderson is on the last fight of her UFC contract. If she can pull off an upset, she'll get rich on the resigning because Dana will want that rematch. If Amanda wins, that could be it for the 145 lb division. She will have cleaned it out entirely.

  7. I think the easiest pick of the 3 title fights is Nunes but I can't shake this (probably foolish) notion that everybody loses at some point. Anderson has size and strength, which is something only Cyborg had going into her fight with Amanda. If... IF she shocks the universe by beating Nunes I think it would most likely come in the form of a decision via some good groundwork or maybe a submission. I'm obviously not "picking" Anderson here but jeez I just have to wonder if the ghost of Buster Douglas will somehow possess Megan Anderson on saturday night.

Edit- Also, keep in mind that Amanda and her wife just had a baby.

    Anyway, my picks...

Rakic over Silva (TKO- most fighters are never the same after facing Bones and that knee caused a lot of time off for Thiago.)

Dober over Mackachev (KO upset- Islam getting a ton of hype but I like Dober's confidence and power.)

Yan over Sterling (Late TKO- Sterling will start faster and stronger but Petr gets better every round.)

Nunes over Anderson (Early TKO- but man, I have a weird feeling here. I know. I'm crazy.)

Adesanya over Blachowicz (Unanimous Decision and a boring fight. Israel's not going to take any chances. As @Malapropismic Depository mentioned, we could even see a similar fight to the Adesanya-Romero snoozer.)

  8. I'm skeptical about the Eternals movie and I actually do NOT (yet) like the casting choices. I'm a hardcore traditionalist when it comes to my comics being turned into films and I plan to see it and make my decisions about it then, but leading up to the release I feel like they are already straying from canon.

If any of you want to see how amazing the imagery was in this comic when it first came out , check out the Google search link below. Great stuff by artist Jack Kirby.

Moving on, I can't believe it's 5 weeks between UFC events. And we have to wait til March 27th

But looking ahead to Bellator in April - it will be Rumble Johnson vs Yoel Romero. Utterly, WOW !

5 weeks? Don't we have Jair Rosenstruik vs. Cyril Gane this saturday night?

The 2 follow-up shots were unnecessary.

Emotionally, I agree. Strategically though, the fighters are taught to keep fighting until the ref stops it. I was cringing as Derrick went in for those last punches though. It was obvious to all viewers that Curtis was dreaming for 1.5 seconds before he even fell.  😬
