  2. Re: Asian baseball player: I don't know what was more annoying, the batter or the band playing the same notes from "We will we will rock you' over and over and over again for what seemed like a half hour. ...And yes, it's a miracle he wasn't drilled between the shoulder blades.
  3. Just bought my second six pack of This beer has an interesting story behind it. DC area folks should remember the powerful straight-line storm, called a Derecho, that swept through the area in June 2012 and left 1 million DMV residents without power for up to a week or more, including Port City Brewery in Alexandria. They had a full tank of lager for which they were unable to control the cooler fermentation temperature needed for a lager, so the tank fermented at a higher temperature than intended. They bought a generator and nurtured the beer to maturity at the higher temperature, changing it from a lager to a California Common beer. They tried it and they liked it. So every June since, in commemoration of that happy accident, they brew and release Derecho Common. It's got a lovely pale golden-orange color. a nice malt/hop balance, and a modest 4.8% ABV. It's a really nice summer-time drink.
  4. No need for lemon, the dried urine on the sidewalk gives it that citrusy kick.
  5. ^^^ What I imagine Predicto's reply would be:
  6. Okay, "Stoop Shrimp." Did anybody know this was a thing? Apparently it is in NYC. You buy shrimp, spread it out on your front stoop or some other concrete slab early on a hot summer day, let it sit there all day so it bakes in the sun, then scoop it up and serve it for dinner. WTF? Yum? http://gothamist.com/2015/07/09/just_a_bunch_of_shrimp_on_the_sidew.php
  7. Pirates' grounds crew member gets swallowed by tarp during rainstorm: His crewmates have a sharp sense of humor. The next day they left this in the infield:

  12. Did a bike ride Sunday that looped from Key Bridge, down the Mall, and up into Northeast then back. The route included stops at -DC Brau - 3178-B Bladensburg Road NE for a The Public Pale Ale and - Atlas Brew Works - 2052 West Virginia Avenue, NE - for a Home Rule Pale Lager At one point, we made a wrong turn and were temporarily lost. As we stopped to check Google Maps, we looked up and found ourselves staring through a fence at this: Fate had brought us literally to the gates of a beer garden at Bardo - 1200 - 1216 Bladensburg Road NE. (I hadn't even realized they had moved out of Ballston.) We stopped in, and I had a Chuck Brown Ale as we watched the dogs frolic and admired the skull sculpture constructed from recycled beer cans. .
  13. He shot at an RV vehicle. Presumably an attempted hijacking. The driver caled 911 and law enforcement swarmed to the area.

  17. Comment on Imgur under the crow pics: "I'm going to post pics of my dog vacuuming up poop with his butt."
  18. Did anybody see the guy in the stands at the Nats game this week who took about 10 minutes trying to put on his clear plastic rain poncho with FP narrating? That was the best belly-laugh I've had in a month. Edit: and here it is.
  19. Shots attempted/made without LeBron on the floor this series: J.R. Smith 0/9 Delly 0/7 J. Jones 0/3 Shumpert 0/2 https://twitter.com/tomhaberstroh/status/611055199403294720
  20. No complaint was filed... the cop happened to drive by. The cop could have handled it a couple of ways. He could have: 1. Pretended he didn't see it and kept driving. Everybody except Larry would have been fine with that. 2. Helped the girls edit the sign to say "Free Lemonade: Donations accepted," drink a glass, drop a dollar in their basket, and drive away. Instead, he chose 3. Shut the whole thing down. Yay.
