Playing at Leeds for 50k a week vs 200k a week at Liverpool, very few players is going to turn that down just to play in the world cup. And without the top six can Leeds even afford to pay 50k a week without a rich owner who doesn't care about profits. The teams in the EFL are always at risk of running out of money. Basically EPL without the big six will need to find owners willing to write off massive amount of losses for the bragging right of owning Newcastle. Maybe they can find more Russian oil tycoon or an oil sheik looking for ways to spend their millions to polish up their PR image.

To follow up, the super league is always going to happen given the money to be generated. EPL/UEFA/LALIGA allowed this to happen because they were lured by the money of globalization of their teams. Now that business men are in charge of their super clubs (which they allowed it to happen) so of course the owners are going to maximize their profits. Ideally the soccer club owners want the NFL model, owner have all the power, make all the decisions and share the wealth so some oil baron couldn't spend billions and force them to spend the money they don't have to compete. Plus they don't want their players to play in internationals during the season, so I doubt banning players is going to sway them much.

People are crapping on this because it's turning in to American sports leagues.

It's just a pissing match between the greedy football associations and greedy owners, everybody wants more money, more matches, more control. The fans get screwed but the fans always gets screwed.

Without the big 6 the epl would just be the efl, I'm sure the sponsors are rushing to sign up for Burnley vs CP.

I don't know why every school district isn't planning to have a fully virtual learning environment set up and ready to go. Even if they open to 50% capacity most will be forced shutdown again unless we get the miracle this administration seems to be waiting on. Do we even have the infrastructure in place school-based Covid-19 symptom screening, testing, contact tracing, and isolation. Or is our plan is just x number of students/teacher got it lets shut down again.

I'm not going to let my child be some kind of guinea pig because assholes ****ed the pandemic response and refused change course. Summer was suppose to give us time to get the virus under control so when fall comes we can be prepared for school. But nope assholes gotta be assholes.
