  1. The NFL needs a rookie cap like the NBA, and the NBA needs a franchise tag like the NFL.
  2. I would like to see what a coach better suited to develop younger guys can do with McGee, Blatche, Young, etc. Saunders should have been replaced at the all-star break, but it didn't happen. Leonsis knew before the season started it wasn't going to go well. He's just setting up the organization for a lockout and rebuild around Wall.
  3. I'm not going to pretend that anybody besides Wall is a great prospect. But I do know that the smart move is to play those guys as much as possible for the rest of the season. If that means you're using a lot of Crawford and Booker. Then good. I think McGee has the raw ability, but his head isn't into it. Maybe that's on him, or the coaching, or both. I think priority number #1 will be getting coaches who specialize in developing young talent.
  4. Well, if the guy doesn't have the mic skills in English. Then they need to do something where he's a big mystery. Maybe create a Luchadore based stable for now where he's teamed with Rey and they get a manager like that Rosa diva.. Then down the road soon when Rey gets ready to retire, have those two feud or something. Actually, if they wanted to add some juice to the tag division. Rey and this guy would be awesome.
  5. http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/sincarajoinswwe STAMFORD, Conn. – WWE today unveiled their latest Superstar signing, Sin Cara, formerly known worldwide as Mistico. The announcement took place today during a press conference in his hometown Mexico City, where passionate fans of all ages turned out to see their favorite performer become the newest addition to the WWE roster. Having already forged a strong international fan following, Sin Cara, known for his high-flying style and awe-inspiring acrobatics, is expected to reach new heights of global success with WWE. “Sin Cara is a tremendous performer who brings the crowd to its feet every time he steps into the ring,” said Stephanie McMahon, Executive Vice President, WWE. “With us, his stardom will only get bigger and brighter.” Upon his signing, Sin Cara said, “WWE is the pinnacle of sports-entertainment. It is an honor and a thrill for me to be able to perform with the world’s best. Being a WWE Superstar will present new challenges, new mountains to climb and new competition. It is a new beginning and a new life. With that in mind, I have chosen the new name of Sin Cara in hopes to represent all the legendary Mexican masked performers and to carry the banner of their legacy to the entire world.”
  6. http://www.tedstake.com/2011/02/24/as-a-part-of-a-rebuild/ Ted talking about the trade and the current pains. I left a comment (waiting to be approved) saying that I understand this plan. But that Flip is doing hard to the development of young players. If you have an opinion, I say post it there too.
  7. Word is that the NBA wanted McGee to Dunk two Sprite 2-liters into two Kia Sunroofs while wearing a bunch of Taco Bell Logo gear.
  8. Fans get 100% of that vote? If he was an option, Yao Ming would have won without even being there.
  9. That's the problem with the titles I think. They change hands too much. When a guy wins the title, it should begin a new battle for #1 contender. Not just have somebody ready. Almost like a brand new bracket. Also, have just the World Title. Get rid of the WWE. Bring back the Cruiser Weight. Add a middle weight. Make Tag, US, Inter-cont titles all something more glamorous. I think Del Rio is interesting too. But he should be going after the Inter-Cont title right now. It would slow down guys like Shamus and Miz getting in big boy matches. Also, why do they just not care about the tag titles?
  10. I'm not a Cena hater like a lot of people. I just think they need to scale him back some. He has a good thing going. The days of HHH's DX vs. The Rock's Nation were awesome.
  11. When they showed the female legs, I thought it was Steph also. If you guys like wraslin' chit-chat. http://bleacherreport.com/pro-wrestling This is a blessing and a curse to the WWE. Its great for the "right on" because the Rock is more interesting than everybody else currently on TV combined. However, when he leaves again....people are going to realize how lame some of the current product is. Also, time to end this stupid Michael Cole thing. When JR was the face and King was the heal of the announce team, it worked. Right now it doesn't.
  12. The Rock just worked the crowd like nobody in a LONNNNGGGGGGG time.
  13. Aside from HHH, the Rock can work a crowd better than the rest of that locker-room combined. Cool to see the Rock, but at the same time it reminds you how guys like Miz, Edge, Del Rio, etc just aren't as good at the Rock. I mentioned HHH because he works a crowd as good as the Rock and those two were polar opposites for some of the best years.
  14. God, I hope so. Honestly, I think after last night and then the post game quotes. You need to fire Flip. I'm not saying you hire a name right now. You promote an assistant to finish the year. Flip is way out of touch with how these guys need to be taught. Just focus on the fundamentals right now.
  15. I'd like to see Nick Young get a small extension and then see if he gets better with a better coach. His passing sucks. But his shooting has been so nice lately.
  16. I am with the folks who think Blake Griffin really isn't a rookie. He got to rehab and do team meetings for a full season. Watch the game and not have to worry about much else. Also, here is my question.....is Nick Young becoming a long term answer for the #2 spot? Or is this just a flash in the pan thing?
  17. The rumor was because Stern is a Knicks fan and didn't want a player that good going to Boston. Then again, he didn't stop any shady dealings that got KG to Boston, or Gasol to LA.
  18. Right now Wall is what? 5th in the league in assists....in his Rookie year? He has parts of his game to improve. But if your PG is doing that right away on an awful team where they miss so many shots. That's a good sign. He's just under a double-double. 15 and 9. I think he's one of the few brightspots this year.
  19. Haven't bought a PPV in years, and won't start tonight. But it looks interesting with this news. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/589875-big-sexy-rumble-kevin-nash-returns-to-world-wrestling-entertainment
  20. watching this poor guy in his f'd up Uni last night was painful. Bad enough is still says Wizards across the front (I've read that while they won't change the team name when they do the colors next year. They might put Washington across the chest). http://blog.washingtonpost.com/dcsportsbog/
  21. I phrased that poorly. Ugly today was doing well, and not being pretty or flashy about it. I was thinking like "Winning Ugly" is better than "Losing Pretty". My bad.
  22. Griffin is awesome. I remember how bummed we were around here when the Bullets didn't get the 1st last year. As far as today, early afternoon NBA was a nice change of pace. The good -Nick Young - He basically stopped the bleeding so they could hang on for the win. -John Wall minus those damn turnovers - He's slowing down when he should and going fast when the D doesn't expect it. Nice little double-double - Blatche - double-double also. Show some nice strength and moves today The Bad Kirk Hinrich - He just didn't do much for the min he was getting. Al Thorton - Just seems to be regressing under Flip Flip Saunders - He just looks so absent and divorced from this team. I think his time is about up. The Ugly Javale McGee - Did ok but not enough blocks and not enough points Rashard Lewis - Have a few nice plays but hasn't gelled with these guys enough.
  23. His in-game coaching is awful. These young players are regressing under him. He's not putting them in a position to win.
  24. That was a cool opening match. I guess I'm glad Miz didn't win by some cheating because if they want to make him legit, he needs to hold that belt for awhile. My gut says HHH is back really soon to feud with Shamus. Again, they need more stables of guys so they can get TV time without matches....and not some group just to beat another. A bunch of middle-card guys together like Nexus.
  25. Meh, if you're only going to have one stable, I don't like it. You need the Justice League AND Legion of Doom to make it work well. Like the expanded DX and The Nation. I know he's getting old, but I do like HHH and how he works the mic and crowd. Especially when he's a face.
