Tae Bo
This is what I think the smart move with Moss would be. Tear up the contract that only pays him $457k this year. Give a 2 year contract with a signing bonus between $2m and $3m and base salaries. Redskins perspective: get to see whether he can produce over two years at a very reasonable price Moss perspective: gives up one extra year before free agency in exchange for about $2.5m - $3.5m and currently a big payday next off-season is far from assured. TD_washingtonredskins
I like that idea...maybe you should take the place of Vinny. Though you might have to make your eyes very buggy.

bulldog
no doubt Moss would counter with the argument that his 1,105 10 td season in 2003 is the true value and that the bonus should be a lot higher

TheBeast36
i like the idea. i think that he needs to realize that right now he is not the caliber of a high paid number 1 WR.
STaylorLayintheWOOD
yeah im just hoping we are working on some kind of extension because he is a young very talented reciever that we cannot afford to let go

zoony
Seems like it's tough to get players to agree to short term (1 or 2 year) deals anymore.. But that being said, I like your idea.
stevenaa
He'll get a longish term deal. If we think he's any good, then we should lock him down. If we don't and he has a huge year, we'll pay for it.

Tae Bo
Originally posted by HeHateMe I'm sure he would love to do that. It would be a smart bet on his part. He is coming into a brand new system the year before he hits free agency, with whispers about how the Jets were going to demote him and how no one thinks he is worth anything close to an unhealthy Coles. If things go well, he turns into a star and hits free agency at 28 for his big payday. If things do not go well, he actually makes money off the deal.
