SkinsNut73
This from the fantasy website I use... CLOSING IN ON 500: Washington Redskins fans will welcome back Pro Football Hall of Fame head coach JOE GIBBS on Sunday when Washington hosts the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Gibbs guided the Redskins to a 124-60 (.674) mark from 1981-92, leading the franchise to three Super Bowl victories. A win Sunday would be a milestone for the franchise, making Washington the fourth NFL club with 500 regular-season victories. The NFL’s all-time leaders in regular-season victories: Team Wins Losses Ties Pct. Chicago Bears 641 463 42 .581 Green Bay Packers 602 474 36 .559 New York Giants 571 477 33 .545 Washington Redskins 499 452 27 .525 St. Louis Rams 476 415 20 .

afparent
Yes, aint it neat that Gibbs will be the coach of the 500th Victory. Now I am glad the ole ball coach only won 5 games last year...it wouldn't be right if he was the coach for this milestone
Jimbo
WOW, I'm surprised the media hasn't played that up yet. I'm sure Joe Buck and company will bring it up this Sunday.

Mr. S
i hope we get this win, I remember last season when we lost all those games at the end, but each week they were saying we might get the 500th win. I actually wanna blowout now. I want our team to come strong, dominate, and shock the league in what we really can do.

J33Edwards
if only the team would have had some more good years during the Norval/Spurrier years the win percentage would look alot better Well at least it is fitting that Gibbs wins the 500th game... Church
Originally posted by pez Doesn't gibbs have the winningest (is that a word?) post season percentage? He may have until the recent run by Belichick. Belichick is 7 up versus 1 loss with 2 rings. I think Gibbs goes 16 wins versus 5 losses with 3 rings, correct? And actually, now that I think about it, I think Lombardi had a better post season winning percentage as well. I think he only lost two of the however many playoff games he was in. Church
Yes. According to the document, the following years are counted for Redskins victories: 1932 (Boston Braves) 1933-1936 (Boston Redskins) 1937-present (Washington Redskins)
SlinginSammy HOF '63
Cool. I was actually hoping they didn't count those so we'd have more, but this is good. A milestone to look forward to,
