RF4L
He has a roster spot. Count on it. Rock, on the other hand....
Skyward72
Maybe he re injured himself?
bulldog
The staff wanted to see him suit up and run a few plays. I don't think Betts' roster spot is in jeopardy. The last thing they want is to let Betts go and then see him end up as a #1 back in Philly
fansince62
is portis too small to make this offense work?
mlindsey13
No, fansince62. I think Portis is holding back A LOT. I don't think he has gone out there and really showed us his COMPLETE game. I think he's preserving himself, and I have felt that way about Portis all preseason. Come the Tampa game, Portis is really going to show us why we traded Champ. What do you all think? Duke
Something tells me that Betts will finally have a solid season. Then, we'll add another controversy on RB position, besides QB.
Sea Bass
He played pretty good in the short time that he was in the game.
brandies
He is a protype Gibbs, type of back. I see him getting some good playing time this year, even though, if healthy, I see Portis getting 325 to 350 carries. A fresh hard running Betts in the fourth quarter would be a nice change up. laurent
I understand he was taken out as a precaution. We need Betts to be healthy this season so we can spell Portis some rest if need be.
freakofthesouth
Betts is a solid compliment to Portis; he's not as quick, but is more physical, more downhill. That will mesh well w/ Portis' speed. Hey, if he can stay healthy, I'm all for Betts. Or should I say, Bettsy.

spanishomelette
Betts played...that's all he needed to do. Now in the regular season he better be healthy and break it when he's in there, or we're all gonna be pissed
REDALERT
I don't think Gibbs and company are comfortable with the likes of a Rock, a Sultan and a Simon to cover for Portis. If Portis got hurt today, would you really feel comfortable with one of the likes carrying the load the entire season? "NOT" not me..... Betts IMO can and will be a legitimate back if he stays healthy and given some game time. Also, with the coaches bringing in Mr. Mack that played with Houston. They're definitely looking for some better production from a bigger back that can hit the hole and run the counter Tre with some authority. The other likes are just to weak to carry the power game for 16 games and get those tough yardages like maybe betts and mack if signed. If you ask me, the running backs other than Portis are weak. Some of you may think diffrently, but if betts don't pan out Portis is our only option teams will respect.
