Mickalino
I'm picking Huskers, 37-34. And what are the opinions on whether Eric Crouch can survive in the NFL ?
Guest B&G
My heart is with the Huskers but my head says Miami will win. Crouch is a great athlete but I don't see him as a QB in the NFL. What does the NFL do with great college QB's with athletic ability who don't project to be a QB in the show? Convert them to safeties and I think that is what may happen with Crouch. Om
If Nebraska wants to avoid being humbled, I think they'd better avoid falling behind by 10 or more in the first half or it could get ugly quick. If they can sustain anything on the ground, they might just be able to hang in. If they manage to hold on until the 4th quarter, who knows, they might even have a chance to win it. Marty Ball! If they can't, however, and their defense ends up on the field too much ... Dorsey and that damned Miami O may well crank it up on them. I believe that's what well see. Miami pulls away late ... 31-17.
TennesseeCarl
Colorado ran up the gut vs. Nebraska to pull off their miracle. Can Miami do that? I don't think so. The strength of Miami's line is the tackles. I'm not a 'Husker fan, but I believe they'll win and big. Nebraska 31 Miami 13. Another Heisman Trophy winner goes undrafted. OrangeSkin
Miami is too good. I saw them rip apart my Orangemen 59-0...Then they went on to destroy Washington 65-7. They are practically a pro team. 49-23, Miami

TennesseeCarl
Well, that's why I'm not quitting the day job to become a sports handicapper. It wasn't even a game. Nebraska can't throw the ball, so if the run's not there, game over. Crouch ought to consider mailing his trophy back. We might want to consider drafting that Miami DT. Lord those guys were fast. I was watching Foniotu, the Nebraska behemoth offensive lineman. He's strong as an ox, but on a lot of plays, he couldn't even get to the defensive linemen 'cause they were so quick. And Nebraska might want to change those blackshirts over to something in pink.
redman
That was truly a case of men among boys. This was one of those relatively rare years when only one team could be considered elite. A few others, notably Florida, Oregon, and Nebraska, were merely very good. Miami (were it held together as a team for a couple of years) might be able to beat this year's Detroit or Buffalo or Carolina teams. They're amazing, and very deserving of being national champs. ------------------ "Loosen up, Sandy baby. redman
BTW- kudos to the Hurricanes for not running up the score. After leading 34-0 at the half, they allowed Nebraska to outscore them 3-14 in the second half. They could have done a Spurrier-esque run-up of the score if they had wanted to. ------------------ "Loosen up, Sandy baby.
