Zen-like Todd
Is anyone watching Oregon right now? I gotta say, I really like the looks of this Harrington kid. He's got the size, the arm, and the poise.
Zen-like Todd
Hmm... I didnt like that interception, but it was his first in something like 140 attempts.
Zen-like Todd
Oh yeah, the Sugar Bowl features Kittner and Rohan Davey, so you can check them out too.
Art
I don't get to watch a ton of college football, and this is just my second game watching Harrington. He looks very smooth. Nice release. Very calm. I was expecting a bit less arm, but he seems pretty solid there. Certainly a prospect. Davey is a guy I really like if he falls. We'll see how he looks tonight. ------------------ Doom is in the box.
Zen-like Todd
I'm with ya Art, I don't watch much college ball at all, this is my first time seeing him play. It's pretty nice to be able to see 3 out of the top 4 QBs in the upcoming draft in just 2 games.
Guest fuji869
If we win on Sunday do you think we will be able to get one of those QBs or do we have to work out a deal with another team? If Dom Capers is going to start out in Houston like he did Carolina by taking a QB with the Franchise's first-ever draft pick Carr or Harrington will probably go first (More than likely Carr). If Harrington is available I would say go for it, but the question is will he be by the time the Redskins are on the board?
Art
Kittner is out of his league. I wouldn't touch him with a pole. He can't adjust to the speed LSU is bringing and seems clearly confused. Davey is a beast. He isn't a great athlete, like Culpepper, but he's huge and he's got a pretty big arm. He's hitting out passes like a pro. Based on today, there's no comparison . I do realize the season was longer than today though . ------------------ Doom is in the box.
redman
Kittner didn't inspire confidence in me either. He seemed unable to make reads, something that we all saw Davey and Harrington doing. ------------------ <IMG SRC="http://www.thelocker-room.com/images/RedskinLogo.jpg" border=0> "Loosen up, Sandy baby. Fitz
I made a point of watching the line play today, both offensive and defensive. One guy that I loved, and could well be there for the Redskins, was the Tennessee DE Will Overstreet. Henderson gets all the publicity, but this guy is a monster, just a hair below Julius Peppers, and he's a senior. On the offensive side, Andre Gurode, the big guard from Colorado, is awesome. He would look mighty good in burgundy and gold too, but he could be gone by the time the Skins pick; then again, Colorado's poor offensive showing against Oregon may cause him to drop a few spots. If he does, he'd be a steal. I like the job Ben Coleman has done this year, but his knees are worrisome, and Szott will likely retire for good after next year. Rolo Tomasie
Agree on Gurode. He can also play C, so that would help. If the Sporting News piece linked above is correct, Gurode could fall to the 2nd round. I would be ecstatic to get him there. I saw Carr in a Bowl game the other night. I hadn't thought much of him, but he made some flat gorgeous passes. He missed a few too, and his delivery is not perfect. However, if he is there in the first round I think the Skins have to consider him, given our need. I have advocated Davey all year, but without a 3rd round pick, I don't know if the Skins have a shot at him. They have too many needs to risk a second round pick on Davey. Damn Schottenheimer hiring ruined this team. Didn't we get a compensatory pick for losing Ray Rhodes?
Dirk Diggler
Agreed on Overstreet. He reminds me a lot of Kyle Vandenbosch. I don't see him going in the 1st round though. Probably the beginning of the 2nd. There are definetly some interesting QB prospects though. Jerry Jones justifed the CArter pick by saying that he saw no QB prospects as good in the 2002 draft. I'd have to say there's only 4 better than "Q-Cart": Harrignton, CArr, Leftwhich, and Davey. Nice try though Jerry. Nice try.
NavyDave
I'd be happy to get Leftwich in the 2nd round but unfortunately he is going to wow the scouts at the combine. Our first pick has to be someone who is going to contribute immediately unless we address that position in the free agency period. ------------------ Take A Sip of the Marty KoolAid and Believe.
