Texans had stopped a whole bunch of runs in the backfield. If you line up and just run it there…. I dunno. They had a guy wide open and then all in his hands. And if you're talking about what a good play call it was, you can't ignore that the passing game is shaky enough that the result wasn't remotely surprising given the QB and receiver. A run there is nowhere near automatic. Not with the way the game was going. You’ve got to be able to execute a 1 yard pass to a wide open guy. Just have to be able to do that. If you can’t, it’s bad execution not bad play call. I would agree with you if the play didn’t get the primary read wide open immediately. But it did. I think if the play call gets the primary receiver wide open immediately and the QB sees it and has time to throw it, the play call is fine.
