I love the MNF theme song and have for 40 years.  It never gets old.

This is a hell of a drive to answer and possible be able to kick a PAT for the playoffs…

and would be #2 in the things we need to happen.

Taylor needs to stay in bounds.

No reason to use a tO there, btw.

There would have still been at least a minor chance to win if they hadn't done that.

trying to draw them offside and then going for a pass on 4th down was pure stupidity

terrible play call

I disagree.  That was a brilliant play call.

You have a quick throw to a wide open receiver.  You can’t ask for more than that.

You’ve got to be able to complete a 1 yard pass to a wide open guy.

A little behind him but he got two hands on the ball. Gotta bring that one in.

there's a chance you can't though.

In a situation like that your play call should be one that puts any chance of failure completely on the other team's defense

You let everything ride on the running game, then on 4th and a half yard you throw it.

Don't really get it.

Texans had stopped a whole bunch of runs in the backfield.

If you line up and just run it there….

I dunno.  They had a guy wide open and then all in his hands.  Not a terrific throw but a ball which should be caught.

Idk. A lot of runs have been getting blown up in the backfield.

That defender's name is " speed. " That's an incredible name for a football player!

They hadn't for several plays, though. You only needed a half yard.

And if you're talking about what a good play call it was, you can't ignore that the passing game is shaky enough that the result wasn't remotely surprising given the QB and receiver.

They hadn’t converted short yardage runs in this game either.

A run there is nowhere near automatic.  Not with the way the game was going.

You’ve got to be able to execute a 1 yard pass to a wide open guy.  Just have to be able to do that.  If you can’t, it’s bad execution not bad play call.

I would agree with you if the play didn’t get the primary read wide open immediately.  But it did.  And the QB saw it and it should be complete 100% of the time in the NFL.

I think if the play call gets the primary receiver wide open immediately and the QB sees it and has time to throw it, the play call is fine.

You’ve got to be able to execute a pass play for 1 yard to a wide open guy in the NFL.  Or you don’t deserve to win.

ESPN didn’t talk about it at all, but the blue LOS line ran directly through Anderson’s wrist on that fourth down play. I’d be surprised not to see screenshots popping up overnight.

I just went back and watched it. He wasn't offsides.

There was a play earlier where he clearly lined up in the neutral zone, though, and I posted here about it.

Maybe it wasn’t Anderson, but the guy lined up as the right DE clearly had his hand over the LOS.
