Here's my quick review of everything we saw in Week 14 of the 2003 NFL season:

TJ'S TOP 10 W-L TJ SAYS

1. Patriots 11-2 Patriots' defense snowballs Dolphins.

2. Colts 10-3 Huge road win and sweep of Titans.

3. Chiefs 11-2 Humbled by Clinton Portis at Denver.

4. Eagles 10-3 In firm control of NFC East with rout of Cowboys.

5. Titans 9-4 Rare two-game losing streak for Jeff Fisher's squad.

6. Panthers 8-5 The Panthers let Mike Vick run wild Sunday night.

7. Rams 9-3 Rams look to stay warm in Cleveland Monday night.

8. Dolphins 8-5 Looking to avoid another December swoon.

9. Cowboys 8-5 Defense stuggles for second straight game.

10. 'Hawks 8-5 Another road loss for Mike Holmgren's erratic team.

Offensive player of the week:

Portis. Ran for 218 yards and five touchdowns as the Broncos dusted the Chiefs at Denver (although Kansas City clinched a playoff berth).

Defensive player of the week:

Redskins defensive end Bruce Smith. He didn't have a great day, but he finally got that elusive 199th sack, establishing a new NFL record (since 1982).

Special teams player of the week:

Colts' special teams. Placekicker Mike Vanderjagt remained perfect in the field goal department (5-for-5) and the Indianapolis kick coverage units recovered three fumbles in a big win at Tennessee.

Number of the week:

445-159. The combined score of the Cardinals' last 12 road games, all losses.

Surprise of the week:

Redskins over Giants. Not a shocker, but it's hard to believe that Jim Fassel's team didn't show up at home this week once again.

Coaching move of the week:

It comes in a loss, but Chiefs head coach Dick Vermeil is now the fourth coach in NFL history to take three different teams to the playoffs, joining Chuck Knox, Bill Parcells and Dan Reeves.

Rising this week:

Colts. Huge road wins this season over the Bucs, Dolphins and Titans make Tony Dungy's team dangerous away from home once the playoffs start.

Falling this week:

Cowboys. Pokes have given up 76 points in their last two games and are now starting to wear down in terms of run defense.

Store it away:

We're on our way to a single-season record for 100-yard rushing games and perhaps as many as five players running for 1,600-plus yards. Who says this is a passing league?

Big different however between winning at Miami or Tampa and winning at Kansas City or New England in January, especially for a dome team like Indy

Guys, the story of our game WAS the collapse of the Giants. We are terrible against our division (2-8), and so far the only time we beat our division rivals is when they are in the midst of a complete implosion.

So if we beat an East opponent, especially on the road, that says more about them than it does us.

If we beat Dallas next week and Philly after that, I'm sure we'll get some credit.
