TK
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,104338,00.html Football Player Prepares for Second Career Sport -- Politics WASHINGTON — Washington Redskins wide receiver Patrick Johnson got a job straight out of college in 1998 -- going to work for the Baltimore Ravens as a second-round draft pick in the National Football League. But the 27-year-old player and journalism graduate is looking beyond the game, planning for life after football and playing in Washington, D.C.'s other major league sport. Johnson currently is working as an intern for GOPAC, the Republican political training organization led by another former football star and congressman,J.C. Watts. Watts, a star quarterback for the University of Oklahoma and former Canadian Football Leaguer, spent four terms in the House of Representatives, retiring in 2002 as the fourth-ranked Republican in the House. Watts has become something of a mentor to Johnson, who has not decided whether he plans to run for elected office. But if Johnson chooses to do so, he would follow in the footsteps of NFL veterans Jack Kemp and Steve Largent. Johnson spends his one day a week at GOPAC participating in all the nitty gritty duties of an intern, from stuffing envelopes to learning how to raise funds for a political campaign. OrangeSkin
He must've been at GOPAC on the day the special teams unit practiced catching punts. THAT SAID, I am happy for the guy. At least he knows that he's got thousands of guaranteed votes in Miami.

fish
It's good to see regardless of the specifics - political alignment-wise.
