The Terps, ranked No. 6 nationally, host defending national runner-up and top-ranked UCLA in a primetime showdown airing live on the Big Ten Network. It's a big early-season test for a talented but youthful Maryland team (1-0-1). Half of the 26 players on the roster are newcomers to the team, 11 of them freshmen. But Cirovski was quick to point out that his recruiting class was viewed by some as the nation's best crop. "This is one of the reasons they came to Maryland," Cirovsky said. "They're going to revel in the moment." One of those freshmen, Amar Sejdic, was named Big Ten co-offensive player of the week after he scored two goals in Maryland's 4-0 win against St. John’s Sunday in the adidas/IU Credit Union Classic in Bloomington, Ind. But this is a different setting and a better opponent; Cirovski and his veterans are interested to see how the young players respond in what's sure to be an electric setting under the bright lights at Ludwig. "We tell them it's incredible. We tell them it's one of the best sensations and feelings they'll have on a soccer field," said senior midfielder Mael Corboz, who led the Big Ten in goals (10) last season as the Terps won the conference championship in their first year as members "For a few of them, there's gonna be a lot of nerves."
