New Redskins coach Steve Spurrier keeps firing up the flames to this rivalry with his comments. He wants the Cowboys to be his Georgia. Remember that Spurrier's Florida teams won 11 of 12 games against Georgia. The success of this game will be how well the quarterbacks develop during the season. Maybe Spurrier is right and Danny Wuerffel can run his offense as he did when Wuerffel won the Heisman. Maybe Jerry Jones right that Quincy Carter is the next great quarterback. Of course, if they aren't good this late in the season, this game could be a turkey.

And Quincy Carter is from UGa . . .

I'd give $100 for us to embarrass the 'pokes on Thanksgiving ... probably more.

I do believe Spurrier will have the Skins stoked, especially for the Cowboys. In turn, his comments will also have the Cowboys hyped up for us which, in the absence of great records, is a good way to re-ignite that rivalry.

I like it! It's fun!

knowing the way things have gone the past 2 years with surprise teams coming to the fore, the Redskins and Dallas will probably be fighting for the division title in that Thanksgiving Game

I think those losses are attributable to 3 major factors:

1. Emotion. The Redskins have not gotten up for these games the way Dallas has, even at home.

2. Play at Quarterback. The Redskins have lost most of these games because the quarterback has been unproductive. Brad Johnson threw interceptions in his Dallas starts and last year Banks failed to lead the team to points despite Davis getting good yardage on the ground.

3. Matchup on the Defensive Line. The Redskins achilles heel on defense has always been its play vs. the run and Dallas' primary offensive strength has always been Smith running behind Allen and Adams/Williams. The Skins have put 260 pound ends like Bruce, Marco, etc.. out there and expected them to combat players 40 pounds heavier and lost virtually every time.

I think with Spurrier we will get the necessary emotion and focus out of the team.

In addition the play of the offense has to be better in 2002 after the pile of wreckage it was in 2001 under Marty and his inept quarterback, Tony Banks.

Lastly, the move to acquire Wynn is perhaps the first indication that under Lewis we are actually going to take defending the run seriously again for the first time since Gibbs left.

It's very puzzling why we don't get up for the Cowboys. We can get pumped to slam the Saints in a meaningless game, and yet we can't muster up some excitement for our bitter rivals with a playoff berth on the line? It's just confounding...right up there with the meaning of life.

That is gonna to be great. SS will have that team fired up and I think we beat them good. I will be at the in laws who claim to be Cowboys fans, you know leftovers from the early 90's(heck my mother in law does not even know what a touchdown is ) so to kick thier a$$ on Thanksgiving would be awesome
