Theismann07
The thing we should learn from the 49ers is that not turning the football over and creating turnovers is a very good way to win football games. Doing the opposite results in lots of losses. The 49ers lead the league in turnover differential with something like a plus 28 takeaway/giveaway number while we were next to last with a double digit minus number. Thats why the 49ers are deep in the playoffs and we are talking draft and free agency. Now Murfs point about building through the draft is valid but those turnover/takeaway numbers are the stark difference in these two teams this year. That was one of the signatures of all those great Gibbs teams....the turnover/takeaway ratio. It was always out of this world.

DCSaints_fan
The 49ers will be irrelevant again soon enough. It's what happens to teams that don't have a stud under center. Sustained success will elude them. What about the Ravens? Maybe they haven't been to the Superbowl recently, but they've been pretty competitive for the last decade. And in one of the toughest divisions in the NFL, too. And in the NFC West, I can't forsee any of those teams being competitive any time soon. I think they are going to be in the hunt for the next 4-5 years, at least.
