On planning to win, be able to take advantage of rule changes and changes in the power structure usually this is done via FAs, trades and x/os but for trades, minimize, if not eliminate, use of picks to achieve this readiness, you've got 3 years or less so your plan must be flexible and serial (for example, 2 year plan to be competitive followed by 2 year plan to be in the mix and a plan to maintain this), solid risk management (such as early indication of plan failure or plan obsolescence, good exit strategies and a network of plans) and develop succession plans to replace key people when they attrit out. To maintain a winner, keep the pipeline full via draft, FAs (true FAs, not the tagged crap) and, on occasion, a strategic trade, stay aware of the environmental situation and develop succession plans to replace key people when they attrit out.

It takes a lot to be a consistent winner. A good front office with a good coach is a must.

They must establish a certain kick butt attitude.

Offensive line quarterback some d players are all no brainiers.

I could list a lot of issues but all would fall under coach, front office, and players that want to win!

By outscoring the opposition 14 times in the regular season and 4 times in the post season.

This and all of the other silly replies are completely unnecessary. Obviously, that's how you win a game. The question, quite obviously, was what are the ways you go about doing that.
