HeHateMe
Hey, why did you say Haynesworth? We already went through ours with Daniels and Buzbee going down and then Jason Taylor hobbling all year long. Forget AH, it shouldn't be said period. About any player. This is the worst part of the preseason. We get so pumped up all offseason just to be nervous everytime we turn on the TV, computer, cell phone or radio. OWUeagleMD
If a player got hurt in a Redskins training camp exercise, and Zorn came out and stated that he wasn't behind the practice, and was never in favor of it, didn't like the fact that the turf was wet, etc, Snyder would be crucified. He would be painted as meddling with the team, not allowing the coaches to coach, and putting his players in harms way. Larry Brown #43 is 100% dead on with this one. The fact that it was for charity insulates the organization, and would do the same for Snyder, Jones, A. Davis, or any other owner. No one in the media wants to be the first guy to take the owner to task for raising $_______ for cancer/AIDS/battered families/autism/widows of the Iraq war/etc.
jrockster21
What does it matter if they charged fans to watch practice or not? The injury was gonna happen, whether or not fans were there.
Big Blue Joe
Another great contribution BBJ.Oooo. I have a fan. When do I get my own thread on a Cowboys forum?

HeHateMe
Oooo. I have a fan. When do I get my own thread on a Cowboys forum? You know where to go. Same rules apply over there too. They don't really filter out the spam there either. You'll fit in just fine.
dockeryfan
Honestly, injuries are a fluke many times, and they're part of the game. Malcolm Kelly has bust written all over him if he can't get on the field due to injury. Bradley goes down, and Gaither goes back in the Middle. You step in to the role and play the game. etc etc. Just using the interwebs to say a big I told you so. Gaither will be the starter when the regular season comes around, book it. http://www.phillyburbs.com/opinions/blogs/burbsblogs/sports/4th_and_26/4th_and_26_details/article/862/2009/august/30/gaither-to-work-with-first-team-at-middle-linebacker.html The article says it will be an open competition, but read between the lines and it means his MCL strain is better, and he'll get a few reps in the last preseason game before being the starting MLB for the opener. Something's gotta change - LB play has been atrocious in the PS. Not sure that Gaither is that much of an improvement, but we'll see.

They knew what they had in Gaither, so they gave Mays an opportunity to prove he couldn't be an every down player. Mays' performance in the preseason proved precisely that. Gaither can't get in there fast enough. Poor Joe Mays. It was nearly comical watching him run around like a lost puppy. I'm not sure how good Gaither can play, and he's definitely a huge drop-off from Stew, but he can't possibly be worse than Mays.
