Die Hard
The wildcat is a fad that was hot last year because the Dolphins had some luck running it against overconfident defenses. Remember when the Browns tried to run it against the Redskins and Josh Cribbs didn't get anything off of it? Defenses that are wise to it shut it down easily. Counter-Trey... a fad too right? No one is running that any more either. Or Run-and-Shoot? Or the Option? How can the Wildcat be a fad.... it's been in existence for 103 years. In fact, it's one of the most tenured offenses in football. The fact is... the game evolves... and someone has something new.... and so everyone hops on to the new thing.... because it's new. Just like the Wing-T or the West Coast..... and now just like the Spread in college. Every offense has its strengths and weaknesses. People are always looking for new material... to be cutting edge. That's the impetus for change. Not because a particular offense wasn't working.
Morneblade
Zorn has said he is NOT going to use it at all. So why start ANOTHER thread on it? Make...it...stop.
