Chuck D was a visionary with his lyrics and his music (yes he wrote and performed most of their nonsampled music) Other Rap/Hip Hop on my playlist: NWA Ice-T (up to Home Invasion, even that one sucked, but everything after is simply brutal) Tribe Run DMC Beastie Boys Fugees Arrested Development Eminem is a great lyricist, but his samples irritate me.
