ABC Reporter arrested while investigating private lobbyist meetings

Heard about it just as a side reference on CNN today, and looked it up on the internet. Didn't see anyone referencing it here. I tried the search, sorry if I missed it (usually stuff like this is found by you guys).

I guess with the new reform, what's happening now is that the big money is still changing hands, just in less obvious locations. This is what the CNN analyst said anyway. Yeah, really great.

Wow. I just read that story and it is really disturbing. From what I read, the reporter broke zero laws, accept the unwritten ones. Never ruffle the feathers of the rich and the powerful.

And WTF is up with the Denver police. These ****ers need to read the Bill of Rights.

This is one of 3 separate incidents that has involved the media that no one is talking about. Very strange.

It's very strange. When I do an internet search, there are a variety of sources.

Just one from google: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x3456792

People know about it. But the mainstream media seems silent on it, except for the ABC news link. I'm assuming that it will be brought out in whatever investigative report he was working on though.

Arresting the reporter broke the law. But no one is holding the lawbreakers accountable and most likely will not. Also, the Denver PD did it when they assaulted peaceful protesters the other day. Again..no one is holding them accountable. It looks like now it will now take a Revolt in order to do so.

Unfortunately, you are probably right. However, I just keep getting this sinking feeling that there might of been some V.I.P. that at no cost could be seen scmoozing at the DNC. Someone perhaps with chips on both sides?

Care to elaborate on the other two? I havn't heard about any other incidents.

Obama versus WGN radio http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2008/08/obama_campaign_confronts_wgn_r.html

Obama wanting the DOJ to block a private citizen from running anti-Obma ads tying him to Ayers. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0808/12816.html

Not to get too OT but i'm surprised neither of these 3 stories has received much media attention.

Well, these two incidents are hardly as indicitive of a gestapo style censorship as the incident in Denver. However, it is still disturbing how both parties proclaim their love for the 1st Amendment, except when it paints them in a negative light that is.

I wonder how many times this has happened before?
