NavyDave
And they were around 30 million under the cap with Fitz big number for this year.
ptr77
Fitz has all the leverage in this situation and basically has made himself untradeable. The cardinals never would want to trade him anyways, but it would be damn near impossible to. Fitz is guaranteed over 30 mill the next two years so he has no reason to accept any deal that pays him less than that over the next two years. After those two years he would probably wants a contract that is over what moss and walker got (Fitz is a lot better than walker) so it would be at least 9 million per year after that. I bet the cards would take a huge hit trading him, and any team that tried to trade for him would be stuck with a contract that would blow most wide receiver contracts out of the water. I never believed the eagles would get him, even if they offered reggie brown, lito sheppard, and a first I didn't see it happening.

Who came up with THAT contract!

Titaw
Yeah in 3 years you'll see more Fitzgerald to ?????? rumors More than likely the ????????? teams will be NFC East teams again. Redskins - We will ALWAYS need a receiver, unless we actually invest in a PROVEN commodity or draft the BEST rook in the class. Dallas - TO will be on the decline and they have nothing else to speak of. Philly - pretty self explanatory Giants - Big Weezy is a stud, but outside of him; Toomer is on the back half of his career
CowboysSaintsFan
With all this talk how Fitz's stand-still contract negotiations were supposedly at a crossroads, to the point where they had little cap money to spend on FAs...why in the world did ANYONE think the Cards would just dump him and get just above average value in return? After all-he WAS the #3 overall pick in the '05 draft. So what if the Cards are going to have to wait 'till next year to field a team-when was the LAST time they even HAD a team? kvarlo12000
sounds like it will be Boldin on the trade blocks now
dockeryfan
sounds like it will be Boldin on the trade blocks now Yet another rumor of a player under contract, that a team has no intention of shipping...of course he's on the trade block. This is wishful thinking. There is zero indication that he's going anywhere.
