At my confirmation we hung out with the bishop... no big deal. it probably had more to do that he was the ambassador to the UN. I think just about any UN ambassador has a fully armed detail. The risk of kidnapping/assasination is probably pretty great... there are plenty of groups who would love to make a political statement. I could see Sinead OConnor jumping out brandishing an uzi.
