gbear
I think Asimov in 1956 posted another option "How can the net amount of entropy of the universe be massively decreased?" http://filer.case.edu/dts8/thelastq.htm As I look at the options in the article, that we are but an experiment fit if an entity has developed the multivac's answer. If so, perhaps we are a test to see if our reality has what it takes to become a reality capable of reproducing. On a time scale too long for our perception, our reality will either develop to the ability to "create" on a fundamental level, or we will perish and "natural selection will allow only the capable realities to reproduce. What if our reality is actually a living organism and our ability to survive to create is our life cycle with some realities never making it to "maturity?"
