GrimReefa
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=easterbrook/070123#player Tuesday Morning Quarterback's Unwanted Player of the Year is Kevin Kaesviharn, safety and nickel back for Cincinnati. Kaesviharn played Division II ball at tiny Augustana in South Dakota, graduated in 1997, and was out of football for four years before earning a tryout in 2001 with the Green Bay Packers, who promptly waived him. Kaesviharn caught on as a Bengals' special-teams player, then was waived and re-signed three times. Kaesviharn gradually played his way into the lineup, starting most Cincinnati games since 2003, and drew some votes for the Pro Bowl this season. At the risk of sounding really corny -- kids, if you've got a dream, never give up. I don't really have a point or anything - I just thought this was a pretty cool story and wanted to post it here in case any of you guys hadn't seen it. DWinzit
Hey it's a feel good story, nothing wrong with that. What I found interesting was the rest of the players listed at DB for the first team All Unwanted All Pros: DEFENSIVE BACKS Ryan Clark,* Pittsburgh (undrafted and let go three times) Ty Law,* Kansas City Walt Harris, San Francisco (Chainsaw Dan Snyder released Harris to free up money to sign safety Adam Archuleta, who failed to start for Washington) Kevin Kaesviharn,* Cincinnati (see below) :puke: By the way, Indy Cheerleaders will not win many beauty awards! Grimm
This list points out a big problem with Redskins, not one current Redskin is mentioned. If you look at the Super Bowl teams guys like Jacoby and Bostic were undrafted, talent was taken out of the USFL like Clark , Sanders, and Williams. This team just doesn't develop young hungry guys with something to prove, they really need to get back to scouting and rethink the whole process of filling out a roster. That just goes back to Cerrato only focusing on the first-rounders, instead of really digging for those diamonds-in-the-rough, like a Jacoby, like a Bostic, like a Monte Coleman. Until they take the draft more seriously, the Redskins will only be a mediocre team, at best.

Until they take the draft more seriously, the Redskins will only be a mediocre team, at best. That statement is just plain silly. Just because they haven't found those guys doesn't mean that they haven't tried. Fact is, players down at the bottom of the draft and beyond are down there for a reason, and it is a roll of the dice if they are any good. Most of them will never be NFLers. But, at the same time, it should teach some patience to some fans, that just because a player isn't great yet, doesn't mean he can't be.
