Monkart
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Tom Coughlin relieved offensive coordinator John Hufnagel of his play-calling duties on Tuesday, just four days before the New York Giants faced an almost must-win game against the Washington Redskins to make the playoffs. Quarterbacks coach Kevin Gilbride, a former offensive coordinator with the Houston Oilers, Jacksonville, Pittsburgh and Buffalo and a head coach with San Diego, will call the plays on Saturday night in Washington. Hufnagel, who was hired as the coordinator after Coughlin was hired in 2004, will continue in an administrative role with the offensive staff. Monkart
Does it really matter with one game left? Well, I don't think they'll go back to Hufnagel next year, so I think it was worth mentioning. Plus I think GW and Gilbride coached together at Huston (Oilers)

Phixius
Thats not going to change Eli footwork, or Plax inability to run a route.
InTikiITrust
Thats not going to change Eli footwork, or Plax inability to run a route. It might change the way the Giants run terribly low percentage passes on 2nd/3rd and short. It might change the predictability of the offense. Or: make Bob Whitfield stop making stupid personal fouls get any of the receivers to hold onto a pass get Shockey to stop whining and start playing like he is capable stop the offensive leaders from saying dumb things to the media get the offensvie line to block However, I don't see how this move could hurt the Giants. Alabama Man
yeah there whole persona is off, they need better leaders from within, and that one thing is evident --- tom coughlin is at least a decent coach, but I don't think they can have success with their locker room, it'd take a super coach at minimum to figure that all out

DWinzit
Parcells is going back to the Giants??? During the 2005 off season a big rumor was the Jets FO personnel discussed their GM position with Parcells. He was thinking about the job because it kept his hands in football, gave him some control and allowed him to come and go as he pleased. He loves the northeast, just built a new house there and is growing sick of dealing with whiny players. The Giants are going to be searching for a new GM. Is it so far fetched?
