Ghost of
Lamar Hunt (AFC-NFC merger, "super bowl.") Paul Arizin (pioneered the jump shot.) Give praise to those who made our sporting world what it is. RIP Mr. Arizin and Mr. Hunt. Bless your passing from this world into the next. Winslowalrob
I did not know that Lamar had died, and I had no idea who Arizin was until I read his bio, and now I feel pretty ignorant for not knowing about his contribution to basketball. RIP for two real innovators and quality human beings.
PleaseBlitz
Lamar Hunt is responsible for the NFL as we have it today. Its sad, but the old guard are slowly passing. Art Rooney, Wellington Mara, now Hunt. These men created something great through their willingness to compromise and because they had great vision of what a pro sports league should be. Lets hope the men they are passing the torch to can fill their shoes. I am not optimistic.
dwbiggs
Weren't they part of the group that was content to underpay players, no benefits etc and reep all of the profit until the union got stronger? I don't feel for them...I feel for the player who was under paid and is crippled now and not helped out by the league that profited from him.
