I have to disagree 110% art. My impresion from your post was you were putting the blame on all the players, and not the coaches. So ALL of the players just fail to show up all year, then ALL of the players just randomly choose the same week to play? Or was it coaching? This came about after changes that should have been made long ago that werent. Gibbs FINALLY yelled at the team, what should have happened after the titans game. Greg Williams finally got his whole safety coach/cornerback coach fiasco dealt with. Gibbs finally put in Jason Campbell. Greg Williams finally stopped blitzing his horrible blitzes, and deciding they werent working, stuck with a 4 man rush and dropped into coverage.

No, I think its clear what happened today wasnt a matter of well coached players finally responding, today was a matter of coaches finally getting their act together and putting players in a position to win the game.

Now Gibbs has to turn the reigns of the offense over to saunders, which clearly from the offensive performance, he hasnt done. 2 yard passes? Run 4-5 plays in a row? 10 points except that one great play by Cooley/Campbell in a game where your defense forced 8 punts. That offense would have lost in all 9 other games we played this year.

BTW, notice how well our much maligned offensive line has played recently? Coming up against a team who generated 7 sacks last week, and has one of the best pass rushers this season in Peppers, we allowed 1 sack, and that was on a boneheaded 3rd and 12 playaction. Playaction on 3rd and 12 with how predictable we are???? We rushed the ball for 150 yards. Basicaly continuing the trend of the Oline that is at the top of the NFL in sacks allowed and yards per carry.

Where have you been? There have been plenty of times when we haven't blitzed, especially when Springs was out. Course, the pass rush wouldn't get there and the QB would have all day to find their guy. It was basically damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Sorry, but the offense is most definitely different from what Gibbs was running last year. It is pretty obvious that Saunders is running it.

I wonder how much of an influence that ESPN article was on this defense. It certainly didn't look like we were forcing standard cover 2 all day and making the line run stunts all day. Defense looked a lot different from what we had seen all year. Players also seemed to be playing with a lot more fire.
