General manager Tom Donahoe personally scouted the campus workouts of both players and, on Wednesday, he and coach Gregg Williams spent extra time with Williams. A right tackle for the Longhorns, there is some question as to whether Williams can switch to the left side in the NFL, and the Bills made him do several drills with a left-handed stance. Buffalo would prefer to rid itself of 10-year veteran left tackle John Fina after June 1, when the impact of releasing him would be somewhat ameliorated on their salary cap. They could move second-year right tackle Jonas Jennings to the left side or draft one of this year's two top prospects. What they almost certainly will not do, despite rumors to the contrary, is use the fourth overall choice in the draft on Oregon quarterback Joey Harrington. One more note on Teague: He is all but certain to re-sign with the Broncos, probably a five-year deal with a two-tiered signing bonus. That structure would permit Denver coaches to get another look at him as a starter, for the second season in a row, then make a decision next spring about picking up the option for the remaining four years of the contract. Agents Jimmy Sexton and Kyle Rote Jr. have proposed such a contract and the team, which now is out of the Willie Roaf trade sweepstakes, seems amenable.

Like I predicted to you guys on another thread; the Bills draft a left tackle; Detroit drafts a DB; and Cincinnati drafts a DB. Harrington falls to the Skins at #18 and we will draft him. That's why the Skins gave Harrington a private workout on Thursday, after Dan Snyder telephoned me and I told him this. <img border="0" alt="[doh]" title="" src="graemlins/doh.gif" /> <br /><br />But Noooooooooooooooooo...... some of you guys keep telling me Harrington wont be there and someone will leapfrog the Skins and draft him. And after the draft Im gonna put out a contract on these guys.... who crossed me. <img border="0" alt="[hammer]" title="" src="graemlins/hammer.gif" /> <br /><br />The Skins get Harrington! Now I can go back to eating my bowl of Rice Krispies. Damn... that Die Hard guy is gonna look funny in a dress. <img border="0" alt="[laugh]" title="" src="graemlins/laugh.gif" /><br /> <br /> <small>[ March 23, 2002, 10:16 AM: Message edited by: inmate running the asylum ]</small>

Actually I believe you are right now, Die Hard. Unfortunately <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" /> But I'll be happy if we get Harrington with that pick. <img border="0" title="" alt="[smile]" src="smile.gif" /> <br /><br />Actually in following Len Pastabelly for several years -- although no one is perfect -- his inside information is usually very accurate. <img border="0" title="" alt="[smile]" src="smile.gif" /><br /> <br /> <small>[ March 23, 2002, 10:58 AM: Message edited by: inmate running the asylum ]</small>

Well, now wouldn't that just be an interesting time to be in the Washington draft "war room". "Holy ****! Harrington is still around at 18! Uh.......Tags is waiting." Certainly would be a pleasant suprise, I'm still not convinced he'll be there, but hey. Just in case. Here's some info on the lad.<br /><br /><a href="http://sports.espn.go.com/nfldraft/columnist?id=1345070" target="_blank">http://sports.espn.go.com/nfldraft/columnist?id=1345070</a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.nfl.com/draft/2002/QB_analysis.html#b" target="_blank">http://www.nfl.com/draft/2002/QB_analysis.html#b</a><br /><br />Now, if Buffalo inn't going to take a Q.B., does this mean that they believe they have you know who in the bag? Aw geez. Now I've done it.

I'm glad you guys are so optimistic - persoanlly I'm afraid to even speak his name for fear of the jinx. We've done so well the last few drafts that getting Joey Heisman would be amazing.<br /><br />If anyone at the 'Skins brain trust is reading, please make it happen. I promise, he won't be Heath Schuler part deux. And at the very least, we at this board will be able to shut up already about the dicey situation under center . . .
