WP: Bush the Incompetent

The thing that really confuses me about Bush is the unwavering support of a decidedly unconservative administration by people who claim to be conservative. Have you heard the term "rooting for the laundry?" Its like all you have to do is put an R after your name, and you could endorse communism and federal control of the markets, and Sarge and Portissizzle would have your back. Its bizarre.

Now that I have my name properly corrected, I would like to respond to this bunk.

If you look at the last 25 years the Republican party has slowly eroded away the power and control of liberals and Socialists in this country. The Conservatives effectiveness has been demonstrated by taking small bites of the apple instead of slamming the whole fruit in our mouth at one time.

I would suggest to you that the beginning of the Conservative success story began in 1980 when our country was exposed with weak international leadership and catastrophic economic policy. Reagan promptly dispelled with grab ass foreign policy and also decided to end our economic disaster with trickle down economics. Regardless of your opinion of how poorly underpriveledged were treated, our economy rebounded. Significantly so. The net effect is the fact that low taxes are still the rule of the day for the rich. (Carter's administration was taxing rich by over 50%)

Our country dispelled the USSR during this time and demonstrated what foreigh policy looks like when we actually stand for something. Pride in our country increased as we shed the clothes of "make love, not war" politicians running the country.

In 1994 Conservatives took control of the Congress with the Contract with America and over the past 12 years that control has increased in slow and steady fashion.

The final bite in the apple is the current changover of the SCOTUS. No longer will liberals be able to legislate from the bench.

In fact the past 25 years has shown Conservatives very adept in appeasing and numbing liberals into submission. Liberals in America still have a "voice" but lack any semblance of power.

Liberals might still ignor the facts of life as they exist in America. The facts do not ignor them. Liberals have no say in American government.

I hear you criticize me personally for blindly being lead by a wolf in sheeps clothing. You are wrong. Most conservatives understand how long it has taken to arrive at this point in history. The way the control was achieved was in fact the only way this was going to happen.

You might argue that Hillary may win election on 08. So what? American were fed up with liberal politics in 1980, they are continuing to be fed up with the "platform" that liberals stand for now.

Liberals have been so marginalized by Conservatives that it is to the point where liberal POV does not matter. This is not a bad thing. Although I could see why you are frustrated by the methods.

1.)

4.)George Bush is real incompetent when it comes to the NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND thing too, huh? The nations standardized scores have gone up and education seems to be improving. Man, he really screwed that one up!!!

I thought about changing the title of the thread, however, I rarely change the title the author provides. I don't like the word incompetent. I like lack of leadership better. Bush did not put the right people in the right spots to get the job done. That is his fault.

Reference education, I am sorry I disagree. We are dumbing down to get acceptable scores for everyone and not pushing the gifted ones to excel and be the next great leaders, scientists ect.

gchwood,

so long as the more philisophically diverse group doesn't have a D after their name?

The R and the D and the I don't mean crap to me. I support who beleives in what I beleive in. I also support Bush because of the man he is. I beleive in his integrity and his desire to make this country the best. Is he perfect? Not hardly, but neither am I.

I don't dislike people unless their character strikes me as someone who can't be trusted. If you change your mind to appease everyone else than I tend to dislike you. That is how I am, and many of the conservatives that I met are like that.

Now there are plenty of liberals that I don't have a problem with, even though I disagree with them. For me in an election, i determine my vote on what that person beleives relative to the position that he or she may hold.

Now I am just rambling.

Look it is like this in general, the democratic party does not support a conservative democrat, hence all the hatred towards Zell Miller. And in general the Republicans are more supportive (fully no, but more) of liberal republicans, that is why there are many pro choice republicans and so few pro life dems

That is why before the change to the 2600 system the SATs were steadily going up and in VA, DC, and MD we had hit alltime record highs? Also an alltime high of High school students are going on to college?
