bulldog
6-10 in Gibbs' first year in 2004 while establishing a core of performers on offense and defense that would help the team get to the postseason. 10-6 in 2005 with a playoff win in Gibbs' second season. Adding a 1,450 yard receiver in Santana Moss, Carlos Rogers the #9 overall pick who wins a starting job during the season and Jason Campbell, the qb of the future. Mark Brunell rebounds to have a 23/10 season. Now the team brings in one of the game's best offensive minds, Al Saunders, and the club has a much shorter shopping list in the offseason for the upcoming 2006 season

SKINZ33
You would have to figure that it was gonna take about 3 yrs to get this team back into contention anyway. Well put.

Add to that the first sense of continuity of coaching since Snyder bought the team.

truskinsfan18
great post, FINALLY someone gets it. I have been saying this all year, and all some of you guys can do is be negative. DieselPwr44
As always, nice post bulldog. I think alot of people thought that with Gibbs' return,it would be a two year turnaround resulting in a SuperBowl, like his first stint here. Truth is, these are two very different situations. Not nearly the talent in place as there was here in 1981.:2cents:

And I agree totally.
cjbrown
Great post. About time someone took a balance and realistic view of where the team has come from and where the are going. Seems like so much complaining of failing to win second playoff game and offensive shortcomings and too little acceptance of the below average team we had become, prior to Gibbs arival/revival and what it would take to get better. Gibbs and co. have done a fantastic job in moving forward.
