Stop It ....skins Fans....just Stop It!

This thread is for all the Crybaby skins fan members on ES…

For the Skins to accomplishment what they did given their schedule, and their personnel, was simply amazing....

This league is so incredibly even on the personal level that the standard "we should beat this team" argument that gets tossed around just doesn't hold water. Every victory is difficult...just look at the cowboys last game, or our raiders or cardinals games. Even the 'worst" teams in this league could beat the "best" on any given day mainly because of this relatively small variance in the quality of personal.

That means that wins boil down too: the execution of the fundamentals, and the coaching. On both those levels this team not only made large leaps from last year, but was among the elite when executing them.

What did we lose only 2 games by 10 or more points?

What we weren't in every game we played except one?

When you look at our schedule that makes us a great team.

Usually, (but not always) when we did lose those games, it was because of the things we had limited control over like turnovers and big plays...

You see folks...in football games, when both sides are executing at the same level of consistency, it is the big plays and turnovers that make all the difference. One need only compare our first half of the season with our second to see this.

The truth is that we could have very easily been 16-2 or 7-9 this year... had we been more/less fortunate. that didn't happen. We as players, coaches, fans must realize that we are not always going to get the breaks. But, when the chips are down, for us to constantly blame our players, or coaches for every loss or bad play without even at the least acknowledging and praising their fantastic effort is…..well…. just beneath us... we should be better fans than that.

I’d like to think that when Joe Gibbs calls us the best fans in the world that it would be true…but listening to the hated and vitriol the some of you have levied against your own players and coaches (Frost, Rhymer, Jacobs, Hall, Brunell, Harris, Gibbs) really makes me think that we aren’t living up to our billing. Especially since these ravings are usually not backed up with any evidence or actual understanding .

Now don’t get me wrong….it’s o.k. to criticize, (god knows I have) but criticism is one thing …*****ing and moaning like a bunch of spoiled rotten brats and calling to FIRE HIM!, and FIRE HIM! is another…. Some of your attitudes and lack of respect for YOUR SUCCESSFUL TEAMS PLAYERS and COACHES, ….. Quite frankly, stink on ice.

So I say to you:

Frost- thanks for making that tackle in the bucs game that saved a touchdown…and thank you for the like 13 awesome punts deep in our own territory in the Hawks game..!

Hall- Thank you for scoring 1/3rd of our points in the playoffs and making a crucial fumble recovery in the Hawks game.

Harris- thank you for getting better all year and doing big things for us down the stretch.

Rhymer and Jacobs- thanks for doing your very best under tuff circumstances.

Brunell- thank you for being a great leader and QB, and showing these people what tuff ness and perseverance is all about..

Gibbs- thank you for taking all the blame and none of the credit…you honor yourself sir.

To the bandwagon-negative pile-ers-on skins fans (you know who you are) I say:

Stop it …..just Stop it.

Only a complete fool would be happy with this "outcome." If what you say is true, and the league is basically "equal" give or take a few teams, then we had just as good a chance to make the Superbowl, especially in the NFC than any other team were it not for atrocious Joe Gibbs playcalling against the Seachickens.

There is NO GUARANTEE that we will make the playoffs next year thats why your "the glass is half full" attitude makes me nauseous.

never said I was happy....I'll be happy when we win a superbowl....I'm just not going to cut and run when the going gets tuff and start *****ing about a team as successful as ours

If what you say is true, and the league is basically "equal" give or take a few teams, then we had just as good a chance to make the Superbowl

I believe that to be true......We did have a good chance to make the superbowl...and it will be even better next year.

... atrocious Joe Gibbs playcalling against the Seachickens.

There is NO GUARANTEE that we will make the playoffs next year thats why your "the glass is half full" attitude makes me nauseous.

look you can argue with the success of this team all you want but my original statements are blindingly true....

1. We were in every game we played except one.

2. We only lost two games by 10 + points

3. we had one of the hardest scheduals in the league and still had a winning record.

you might as well argue that the "half full water glass" that you just drank out of doesn't exist.

I was not expecting the Skins to do as well as they did, I would say it was a successful season. Hey it was the first season in a loooonnnggg time that we had a winner, offense gets tweaked over the off season combined with Williams smothereing defense and next year could be a blockbuster

Couldn't agree more. This team is defnitely on the cusp of greatness. And not just the greatness of 1 great season. This team has the potential for longevity.

I don't get it....you're happier we are watching from the sidelines? ;)

What I meant is I am happy with our season.

As far as the Colts go, look at all the hype they got about them going all the

way, and the Redskins having not a chance to even get by Tampa Bay.

Now the beauty and beast are sitting at home.

putting aside the pedantic, blowhard aspects of this post....it is not mutually exclusive to appreciate and savor the best this season brought AND expect even better things for the upcoming run to the SB....

my immediate reaction? some people are content to settle for second best. these are the same people who cannot be relied upon when the proverbial rubber hits the road. as Tiger aptly put it - second place is for the first loser. now is no time to admire what is done. we can feel good about it - but the mission is still in front of us. it is entirely appropriate to analyze what went awry and initiate plans for improvement...just what do you think the coaches are doing at this very moment?

as for the bandwagon tirade - this is really an arrogant conceit masked as an holier than thou strike at an ill defined group of people. let it rest for crying out loud. post what you love about the Skins/this past season and quit working overtime as your brothers' keepre. it really isn't very graceful.

Well, coming in to this season to be honest I had no idea what to expect from this team yes, a little disappointed the way the season because deep down in my heart you can tell me that the Seahawks is that much better they are an average team I'm not so impressed but not taking anything away from the season it was more than I ever expected it was'nt meant to be.

What people need to think about is that Coach Gibbs came back to the Redskins not only to win another Super Bowl, but to re-establish a winning tradition to this franchise. We all know about how long we've been suffering through bad/mediocre seasons ever since he retired after the 1992 season. This is the first step to getting back to being CONSISTANT PLAYOFF CONTENDERS!! The ONLY way to win the Super Bowl is to qualify for the playoffs on a year to year basis. In that way, our Redskins can and will garner all the respect that they deserve.

 You used the word pedantic ...and then called me arrogant and conceited....:laugh::laugh:

....it is not mutually exclusive to appreciate and savor the best this season brought AND expect even better things for the upcoming run to the SB....

.

if anyone knows or could explain what the hell this sentence means I would greately appreciate it.....I guess I don't rise to your level of blowhardedness to understand this.:whoknows:

... some people are content to settle for second best. these are the same people who cannot be relied upon when the proverbial rubber hits the road. as Tiger aptly put it - second place is for the first loser......

Who is Tiger.....Oh...you mean Tiger Woods the pro golfer.....I didn't know you were on a first name basis.....congratulations on your mutually exclusive relationship with Mr. Woods.

... now is no time to admire what is done...

yeah you're right.....we shouldn't admire how awsome our team was this year....now is not the time for that....

... but the mission is still in front of us. it is entirely appropriate to analyze what went awry and initiate plans for improvement...just what do you think the coaches are doing at this very moment?

I agree with this...but this was not the point of my "pendantic" post. If the skins fans I'm talking about were just analyzing I'd have no problem...but their not...it's just a bunch of crybaby fingerpointing at players and coaches whom I wish to defend. Did you even read the post?

as for the bandwagon tirade - this is really an arrogant conceit masked as an holier than thou strike at an ill defined group of people.

If it is arrogant, conceited and holier than thou to defend a group of hard working Talented Redskins from vicious attacks from thier own fans ...I'll wear that badge with honor.

let it rest for crying out loud. post what you love about the Skins/this past season and quit working overtime as your brothers' keepre. it really isn't very graceful.

I the same sentence, you do, exactly what you tell me not to do....are you MY keeper?

What's really not graceful is your pathetic attempt to use words, which you had to look up, to try to make yourself look smarter than you actually are....:jerk:

oh and one more thing....

Great Season, but it is over signifying that we do need to make some changes. Just a quick note though, if you don't like having discussions about what we think should be done with the team stop reading threads with titles that indicate that is their purpose.

I totally agree....I just wish more of the negativity towards the players who some think should be let go would be headged with some sort of recognition of them making this successful team what it was....

I agree with desertfox59 on this one. I, for one, am happy with this season. I wish we could have gone further, but am very happy with this season. Those of you who find the "glass 1/2 empty" should try remembering all the years when it was completely empty, if you've even been fans that long. I remember far too many years when our season was over after the 11th game. To me, this season is a huge success. For the first time in a very long while I have confidence in what we will witness next year. We will have a reasonably intact coaching staff, little turnover of players, and a team that fights until the last second. Tell me, honestly, when was the last time you could say that. You don't have to answer right away. Take as long as you want. Yeah there's work to be done. So what? Isn't that what it's all about? Mr. Gibbs is in charge. He's got it covered. Really.

If you can't enjoy it then why bother watching. Some of you could find fault with a free case of beer.

ok...I will use big block letters....will that work?

1) Your post didn't attack ideas. it attacked people and behaviors. I immediately consigned it to where it belonged: the BS bucket.

2) No one is arguiing that the successes of the past season shouldn't be celebrated. You can qualify the season with whatever adjectives you like. The issue is that others want to jump into the changes that need to be made to make things even better.

2) Wow...so you are anointed to defend Redskin players and coaches! What a great guy you are! Mighty self important wouldn't you agree? Do you really think they need that? How about accentuating the positive and ignoring the fluff? The posts you point to are generally silly and easily ignored. Who cares about the idiot posts screaming "start Campbell now" or "Joe Gibbs failed"? They're just rants - and your response that basically seeks to mollify these posts amounts to the same. I get as tired of these control the tone posts as I do the emotional "change the Redskin world" posts. They don't add anything to the discussion.

as for my education and experience, junior, I suffer no illusions where I sit relative to you. Then again, I never worried about that in the first place!

owned? now there's an adult idea! thanks for the workout junior....even if it was a bit underwhelming!!

I would definitely agree that I am very happy about the season the team had. Am I happy it ended on Saturday? Heck no, but the fact of the matter is this team overacheived in every possible way and the future looks really bright. I'm just happy the team is headed in the right direction and for the first time in years, I'm actually excited about next season right after this season has ended.

This thread is for all the Crybaby skins fan members on ES…

Nice way to start out a post:rolleyes: You are no better than the group of people you just labeled.

A couple points.

1) "The we should beat this team" point IS VALID. Look no further than Joe Gibbs himself winning 2 NASCAR championships in a sport where everybody drives around in a circle with the exact same parts in the exact same cars. There is no "smaller variance" then NASCAR. For the record, we should of beat Oakland.

2) "The truth is that we could have very easily been 16-2 or 7-9 this year... had we been more/less fortunate." I disagree, our record is a reflection of how we played this year. We got some bad bounces early in the year and some good ones late in the year, but eventually the breaks even out.

3) So it's ok to criticize, good just wanted to check with you first. Here is my critique: Your post is condescending and attempts to lump togther a group of people that don't agree with you as "Crybaby Skins Fans".

4) It's a forum, much like a town. A group of diverse people from different backgrounds and age groups expressing their own opinions. So if a fan calls to "FIRE GIBBS" or "BENCH BRUNELL" then so be it. I think anybody who pays the amount of money that we do to watch a SKINS game is entitled to "rant & rave" a little.

5) "Gibbs- thank you for taking all the blame and none of the credit…you honor yourself sir." Maybe you should take a closer look at your own post.

I've always said since the start of the season that next year will be the super bowl year.

Year one: Was for Gibbs to get adjusted to the league and evaluate what he has.

Year Two: Gibb's system and personnel is taking shape but we are still a couple of pieces away.

Year three: All the players will buy and believe and we will pick up those few pieces we need to win it all, Possesion Reciever, Pash Rush Specialist and more depth at D-line and O-Line.

Now I don't want to sound like a "wait till next year" kinda guy but I really believed that Gibbs still doesn't have the personnel in place yet, so lets hope the draft and free agency with take care of that. WE're close, so close, Keep the faith.
