Peregrine
No, how about we use Ladell Betts. Cartright plays well 3rd and short because he plays like Ladell Betts. No hesitation, full speed ahead. The difference is betts is bigger. Like in the TB game, I didnt have a big problem(though I still think we should have passed it) with us running on that last 3 and 2 that ended up costing us the game. What I had a problem with was that portis was running it and not one of our bruisers. I dont care who runs it on 3rd and short as long as it isnt Portis, hes not a short yardage back. Larry
Yes, I know everybody's been waiting for it, so . . . Comming in to this year, Rock, for his career was 5 for 5 on fourth and short 11 for 13 on third and short (I'll have to go over the play-by-play for yesterday and SF. I know he had a 3-short yesterday (and made it). And he may have against SF, too.) (And Nemo, in his career, on short yardage, is 0 for 0.) After further review, I think I've gone over all his carries this year, too. This year, he's 3 of 3 on 3rd and short. (And 1 of 3 on x and goal.) So, revised stat is now 14 of 16 on 3rd and short. (Which I define a 2 yards or less).
