  1. That is such a huge gamble for someone in his first year that clearly needs a franchise QB. I will say though that Penix could definitely emerge as the hidden gem of this draft but his injury history is too much of a red flag for me
  2. I agree that the turnovers are an issue for Allen as he tries to play hero ball too much, but the whole winning on bigger stage thing is a team stat, not just the QB. If it weren't, we'd be sitting here saying Nick Foles is better than both with his one ring. And Burrow still has as many rings as Allen to show for it.
  3. And mahomes this past year had an elite defense backing him up, with reid every step of the way, one of the best coaches ever at this point. Not that i’m disparaging mahomes at all, he is the equivalent of going up against MJ during the 90s bulls dynasty. Nearly impossible to overcome. But just like michael, mahomes didnt do it alone. Allen is absolutely elite but can’t win a SB all by himself, no one can
  4. So calling him a skinnier RG3 and a bust/injury waiting to happen is no hate to daniels. The sentiment here very clearly favors Maye, not kind of prefer Maye over daniels but would be thrilled with both
  5. "190lb soaking wet" is funny. Didn't JD weigh in right at 210 on his pro day, just as he was listed prior to all those jokes/suspicions? Someone here mentioned earlier how he looked bigger on his pro day Here's the pic from that post. Looks thicker to me. Those last-minute big macs really did a number on his arms and legs
  6. And if they draft maye and he busts, then what? Nobody really knows **** when it comes to this process and who the right guy is/will be so you’d be better off just sitting back and trusting peters and co. to make the most well-informed and calculated decision possible instead of popping a hernia as soon as whoever’s name is called on draft night
  7. What about running QBs that get sacked less because they’re able to escape pressure/sacks in the pocket vs primary pocket passers? Or a qb that takes off and even if he doesn’t slide or run out of bounds before getting hit (which can and should be drilled into him) is now taking a hit from a much smaller corner/safety vs a hulking brute of an edge rusher or even worse a bunch of 300+ guys piling onto him at the line of scrimmage? How many major injuries have we seen to QBs taking hits behind the line of scrimmage with their leg planted vs beyond it? Seems to be heavily skewed to one side so a guy that’s better equipped to escape those kind of hits seems like a good bet
  8. What have those prototypical pocket passers you mentioned won compared to the dual threat guys, save mahomes and stafford? It takes a lot more than just the qb and style of play they utilize to hoist a lombardi. Coaching, system, supporting cast, and plain old luck all play big roles here Also ironic that we talk so much about these running QBs like daniels destined to get hurt when burrow can’t stay healthy for the life of him. Tua is one concussion away from early retirement. Kirk just had a major season ending injury while in the pocket, untouched. Stafford has been fighting injuries for a while now. It can happen to anyone, but because we had RG the same thing will surely happen to daniels
  9. While fake this does seem likely for the price to get the 3rd pick. Maybe throw in an additional 2nd or 3rd, especially since NE needs a new franchise QB and mccarthy won't be there at 11 anymore
  10. There is some serious buzz and hype out there pushing mccarthy up to us at the #2 pick. Yeesh
  11. 11:43 dispels some of the myths, but also shows the toughness and poise under pressure that I think will make him succeed in the NFL. There's a DL in his face, he hangs in, perfect technique, and delivers a strike, completes it deep over the middle to the right guy, then takes a massive pancake hit. That's a throw very few NFL QBs can make under that pressure. Love this throw. 17:02 is another mythbuster. He gets pressure so he rolls out. But rather than tuck and run, he keeps his eyes down field, resets quickly, and hits the open guy for a nice gain. He'll run when nothing is open, but he's always looking down field, making good decisions.
  12. I was told that it would be airing on NFL+ at 1:30PM ET. This is some bull**** NVM I got it
  13. I hope the cameras pan over the faces of the GMs/fanbases trying and hoping the media will be successful in blowing smoke up our ass (or, should I say, Adam Peters' ass) when Goodell announces Maye as the 2nd overall pick to us.
  14. I keep switching back and forth as well. Give me a Herbert/Allen comp vs a Lamar comp any day though. I just need maye to be ready to go day one
  15. Fixed because if its not JJ they can kick rocks. Not like we don’t have the cap to pay him
