  1. Yeah I was all for us going with TH this year and drafting Kenny Pickett but that was taboo evidently. Everyone else told me I should want us to get Trubisky, Mariota, or Wentz type qbs bc they can throw the ball far like Jamarcus Russell. I guess I just don’t know much about football 😕
  2. Would’ve been better off with TH than signing ole Carson came and Wentz. I’d bench him asap
  3. Yeah he is at fault for bad decisions like bringing in Carson and drafting Jamin Davis but when you have a bad qb it makes the whole team look bad. We have talent on this team. I would bet that if th/howell start the rest of the season we’d end up with 7+ wins and be competitive in the losses. You get to 12+ wins when you have a top 10 qb. Cousins wasn’t exactly a top 10 guy but we were a decent team with him and those teams were less talented than our current one imo.
  4. What’s gonna happen is th or howell will come in and our team will start looking normal and get some wins. Wentz is simply the worst qb on the roster. Th won 7 games last year with less talent and a tougher schedule. You can’t do anything in this league if you don’t have a good qb. Ron’s obviously not the best head coach/gm but he’s not the biggest problem. See what Ron can do the rest of the season without Wentz as the starter and if it’s still ugly then you fire him.
  5. Sad thing is normally this thread would be crazy right now but there’s hardly anyone here. This fan base is dead.
  6. Obviously snyder is the biggest problem but I don’t blame Ron as much as most do. He made a bad decision to trade for Wentz. I hated that move as soon as I heard about it. Wentz is finished as a starting qb and I think the right move is to play th and see what he can do with better weapons around him. If there isn’t much improvement then you play howell for the remainder of the season. If howell doesn’t show much promise then you fire Ron, but I believe we would be competitive with th or howell. Bad offense directly influences the defense. I guess I’m just saying let’s make sure it’s not mainly a qb problem before we fire Ron.
  7. Kid can play, no doubt. He’s just kinda short for an nfl qb who’s gonna have to succeed as a pocket passer. Some guys can play well despite that and some can’t. I hope he’s the next Drew Brees though.
  8. Congratulations man, we got your guy. I actually think that was a very good pick.
  9. I would definitely take howell or corral at 98. Preferably corral
  10. I see Mills being a little better than Kirk Cousins and Pickett being a little better than Dak Prescott. But enough with talking about qbs we didn’t draft. Let’s get ready for tonight.
  11. Always have liked you dude. That’s why I talk to you more than anyone on here!
  12. We’re one or two drafts away from being a well respected scout like KDawg! I can only hope I reach that level. Houston is being very smart by building around Mills.
  13. Somebody agrees with me! Davis Mills checked a lot of boxes for me last year too and I was screaming for us to take him in the 2nd round. I think Pickett will be better than Mills though.
  14. I see a guy with good size, running ability, above average arm, good accuracy, intelligence, great personality, pocket passer, pro system experience, heisman trophy finalist, and experience playing against nfl talent. Seems like a guy teammates would rally around. He set the acc record for passing td’s. I think teams are gonna look back a few years from wishing they would’ve selected him. We do have a lot of needs but you gotta get a long term solution at qb if he’s there. It’s just my unpopular opinion. Time will tell.
  15. We really didn’t give up that much for Wentz though and hes not the qb he was. I actually liked that trade but I view him as more of a bridge instead of the future. I knew we weren’t gonna go qb last night but I just think it would’ve be a smart long term decision.
  16. You were practically begging for them to get Trubisky and draft Howell in the 1st rd to learn behind him a few months ago. But anyway, I don’t see Wentz as the long term answer and I think a smart team would’ve taken Pickett in that situation. I’d be happy if we get Willis today though. He’d be so good at read option and play action off that like rg3 was his rookie year. I know that’s not gonna happen though. I guess we can settle for Sam in the 3rd 🙄
  17. Well he was the only qb taken in the 1st rd and your boy probably won’t be taken till the 3rd. Evidently the Steelers see some franchise qb in him, even though they had your other boy Mitch on the roster.
  18. What’s up guy? You still whack it to Sammy Howell everyday?
  19. We’ll be frustrated for many years for passing on Kenny Pickett
  20. I think Dan realizes you can’t win without a good qb no matter who the coach is and it’s actually impressive Ron won 7 games with th. Plus his replacement would be worse bc nobody wants to come to this clown franchise. Ron will be here for the next 5+ years unless he decides to leave.
  21. I’m not a big fan of the move but I’m incredibly excited that we won’t be getting Mitch Trubisky like many es members wanted 😂
  22. Probably so. Lance has all the physical tools you want in a QB. The obvious ? with him was he played D1 AA ball. Shanahan is a great offensive mind and his dad was too. They turned RG3 into OROY and won a divisional title with him knowing barely anything about the drop back passing game, and introduced the NFL to the zone read which is still effective to this day. He really changed the way professional football is played. He’s been to a super bowl and may go to another with jimmy g. Only a coach like that can turn a project like Lance into an elite qb. I think he saw that Lance had good speed but better size, coordination, and durability than RG3. You combine the zone read plays with his zone blocking run scheme and play action passes sprinkled in and it’s very dangerous. That’s why I would love to see us take Willis. Qbs like that can be phenomenal if they’re used the right way.
  23. It is a big deal unless you have quick feet and good pocket presence to find open passing lanes or drop back quicker. I know from being a qb in high school at 5’10, you have to find ways to see the field and throw the ball even at the high school level. Seems to make a big difference being 6’2+ compared to 6’1-. Guys like Wilson and Murray are super quick with their feet and even Brees was quick within the pocket. Being a fast twitch qb gives you the ability to escape the pocket and find open receivers too. I’m not too high on Howell bc he just looks sluggish when I watch him and he’s not very tall. Almost looks like Baker Mayfield gained his freshman 15.
