  1. Howell, Pickett, and Corral played against great talent. That’s the #1 thing to look for in qb prospects imo.
  2. I think Haskins and Willis are totally different. Haskins is a pure pocket passer so he has no choice but to learn complex systems that require quick thinking and play from the pocket. Willis has athleticism that we could use to run read option stuff maybe 15-20% of the time to keep defenses honest. You can run a simple offense with him and be successful. The biggest problem with qb’s like Willis are 3rd and long situations where the defense knows they’re going to pass, but the hope is most of the time you gain enough yards on 1st and 2nd down to have 3rd and short where you can still run or pass. From what I see he has the coordination to slide and get down, which is a must for a qb like him. You’re right, Lamar Jackson isn’t great in the playoffs bc this type of offense isn’t exactly the formula to win Super Bowls but it’s not impossible either. I think Willis could give us at least 5 solid years of good offense and playoff contention. That’s better than what we’ve had since I’ve been a fan (1997). If you want to turn Willis into a pocket qb then he’s definitely a Haskins type project. I think that would be a waste of time and talent. In the right system he’s a plug and play qb that could bring instant success. I would much rather draft a Pickett or Corral and hope they are the pocket passing type qbs that win Super Bowls though. Howell may end up being good but I think he’s a day 2 pick, so if we go that route we could take another position at #11 and go with Howell in the 2nd. That’s not my ideal scenario though.
  3. Willis will never be a good pocket passer in the NFL. He is crazy athletic and will thrive for maybe 5 years if he’s put in a read option system. He will probably be the only qb in this draft that’ll have immediate impact. I think he’ll be better than Hurts but not as good as Lamar Jackson. Corral played against great talent in the SEC, but so did Pickett and Howell in the ACC. The ACC is third in the power 5 conferences for players in the NFL. Cincinnati however plays in a conference with a huge drop off in NFL talent. I’m not saying Ridder has zero chance of being a good nfl qb, but it’s not likely. My top 3 passers in this draft are Pickett, Corral, then Howell but my top 3 qb’s overall are Pickett, Corral, then Willis bc of his read option capabilities. I think Pickett/Corral/Willis go top 15 and Howell goes late 1st or early 2nd.
  4. Does anyone have a source for Kenny Picketts hand measurements? 😂
  5. I don’t think Dan has the patience this time for a rookie qb. I doubt any of these prospects are the splash he wants to make. So that would pretty much leave Rodgers, Watson, and Wilson. I don’t think it’ll be Watson bc of the obvious stuff and I don’t think it will be Rodgers bc we’re not that lucky. That leaves Wilson as the most probable qb Dan will try to get and he will pay whatever it takes. If it happens it will be the biggest trade in nfl history guaranteed.
  6. Winston! I think Winston would be a good bridge qb to bring in. I love the idea of bringing in a bridge qb. I just don’t understand why Mariota and Trubisky are even being considered. I’ve seen them play many times and they are just not very good. Teddy B and Winston I would be open to but hard pass on Trubiskiota.
  7. I rank TH over Mariota and Trubisky but I think Teddy B may be a slight upgrade. But like you said, he doesn’t know the system so maybe he wouldn’t be. We definitely have to go qb in the draft though and will most likely have to move up to get the one we want. So if TH is our bridge qb until rookie is ready then I’d be okay with that.
  8. You’re right. It’s going to ruin the thread if we keep on. I’m finished starting now.
  9. In a down year he still threw 25 tds and 6 ints in 14 games. He would instantly become the best qb we’ve had in franchise history.
  10. I’m with you man, I love TH. I Think he’s better than most people in this thread do. But you have to snap out of it. He is not better than Stafford. It’s just not true. I’m your friend, I’m not your enemy.
  11. Yea I put carr on the same level as cousins. It would be nice to know we have a qb that’ll at least lead us to a .500 season for several years. He’s probably the best qb we can realistically get via trade or free agency (some people in this thread might put Mariota and Trubisky ahead of him). Wishfully thinking, it would be nice if we could get him and one of the top qbs in this class to sit behind him for a few years like Rodgers did. I know it’s not gonna happen but that’s best case scenario outside of getting Rodgers himself.
  12. Sean Mcvay, great guy. Very handsome. Got his autograph after a game years back. He might be 5’7 tops. Wish he was our coach though. I guarantee he would’ve found us a franchise qb by now.
  13. You’re probably right but damn, imagine having a solid veteran qb and a good prospect learning behind him. This fanbase has never seen that.
  14. Any chance we get Carr and Pickett/Corral falls to us? What a dream. That’d almost make me wanna go get a massage with Robert Kraft and Deshaun Watson.
  15. I’m a TH fan. I think he played okay for having most of his weapons hurt. I believe he fell off the last several games bc they were injured. I’ve argued he’s at least as good as Mariota and Trubisky. I would be okay with him being our 4 game bridge qb and backup when our rookie is ready. With that being said, I absolutely don’t think he is a top 15 qb. He is not better than Stafford. That’s crazy talk.
