With all of this guy’s lies and mischaracterizations of his his experience, does anybody else get reminded of the Big Lewboski? “I’ve seen my share of spinals....”

If SF offers their first, I don’t see us being competitive. We should be able to put together a favorable package compared to Indy.

So is Sonny going to let him where his number? This ain’t Shane Mathews we’re talking about.

The 3 year 42 mil deal? If we pay Darby more than 8 million let alone 14 I’ll barf all over my keyboard.
My point is that we may have to let him walk and look for a replacement.

Exactly. We found our guy. Lock him in and move forward with the other holes.
Of course if he demands some crazy contract you move on, but he's a CB1 and worth being paid.
Waynes’ contract was the seventh highest that a CB signed last offseason. Now some of those were extensions, but it was like the third or fourth highest FA contract for a CB.

If another team offers Darby a contract like Trae Waynes got last year, do you beat it?

This doesn't sound good..
Article says no pre or post game shows..
A great way to grow a fan base. MLB needs to step in.

He played well but we can honestly do better. His limitations were exposed against teams that could block our pass rush. I feel like he's this year's Erick Flowers. Let some other team overpay him.
Thing is, we’ll need to get lucky to replace him. Schweitzer did a great job for cheap, but without a young backup on the team, replacing him in FA can get risky.

Yeah I’d start there, about 55mil post Smith. We will carry 15mil in season. Usually do as Minimum.
Say maximum 40mil in space to use.Scherff, Darby, Allen, Heinicke, vet LB, is KPL a FA, probably Hopkins at kicker as he’s a FA. Even a long snapper. Few gaps to plus. That’s 20mil in space gone easily.
Still need a #1 QB. Then we want some stud FA’s. We can extend Jon Allen, slight restructure on Moses.
We really can’t do whatever we want. But we are in good shape.
We spent 5.2M in cap for K, LS, and Allen. Allen is ERFA. We also have Vedvik at 660k if we aren’t bringing back Hopkins or shopping for another. In other words, these 3 positions can be covered at around 5-6M. Brandon Brooks’ number was 7.8. So let’s say 14 for those four total.
Like you said, we can do some things with JAllen and Moses. We can also save money by doing some easy cuts like Love and Barber and a WR that can add in another 3.
We are in really good shape.

Who is going to be position player 13?
Currently I see,
C Gomes
1B Bell
2B Castro
SS Turner
3B Keiboom
LF Schwarber
CF Robles
RF Soto
Bench: Catcher2, Zim, Harrison, Stevenson.
Harrison’s versatility is very helpful in a way that the 13th guy can play any position.
-
$1M? This is a great deal for a righty of the bench/defensive replacement. Can give Bell a break against tough LHP starters. Love it, especially with a 26 man roster.

Downloaded the FanDuel app. They basically gave me $125 to play. You have the opportunity to pick a winner this weekend with a +2500, max bid $5. So I took GB. Then I put $50 on TB at +158. I’m going to net either $75 (GB) or $74 (TB). They also give you one ridiculous prop bet (max $50). Last night it was either LBJ or Gianis would score at least 1 point. I know I’m a mark, but I gladly took that $50.

Does Collins have any trade value? I don’t think he does, but it’d be great to move on without the cap hit. He may be have to go on the PUP.
-
Ted Cruz. That guy. Now he’s a big champion of union workers? GTFOH.
Jon Tester made a non-so-subtle slam of McConell’s wife and the rest of the former admin. -
It’s laughable to think only 100k more are going to die from this.
However, a good sign is that the 7-day average for new cases has declined considerably this week. It’s still higher than a month ago, but it looks like the acceleration has tapered off. -
So who gets the 5th starter spot: Ross, Voth, Fedde?
What’s in the BP? Rainey, Hudson, Harris. Who else fills it out? Finnegan, Suero?

I agree. I am under the thought process of you have to go about this one of two ways. All out or slow play. I think the all out has shown to never work here. This season was fun but let’s build like the Ravens, Patriots, and Steelers. Get the Comp picks for Scherff, Darby, and Kerrigan. Sign a few fillers who get cut that don’t cost comp picks. Trust me there will be a lot. These teams that are left built with there guys with the exception of Diggs and Brady.
And Fournette. And Z Smith. And P Smith. And Mathieu. And Frank Clark. And C Beasley. And M Hyde. And D Williams. And Suh. And JPP.

Pray to god we don’t build like the Patriots. Once Brady left they looked like absolute garbage.
They had the same record as us. lol

Ertz is under contract for next year. Are we sure a team won’t trade for him?

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of taking a flyer on John Ross. His athleticism is incredible and he has experience returning kicks. In fact, he had multiple TDs in college. I think he had 5 in one season and 3 of them were called back on penalties.
Definitely worth buying low, especially if the cap is lower than anticipated.
Another potential low cost speedster to keep an eye on will be Isiah McKenzie. Though I do wonder if a healthy Emmanuel Hall could compete for that type of role.
Ideally, they can get one of the top WR (Robinson, Golladay, Godwin, Davis, Smith-Schuster), maybe draft a guy with our top 4 picks, Sims, Harmon, Gandy-Golden, and a cheaper speedster. Then take the best 5-6 out of that group.

Virginia Beach changed the metrics they use to reopen from certain thresholds to just a “7 day decline in cases” and Northam held a huge press conference last week where he said it was time to stop saying we should be closed and time to start saying what can be done to reopen, and that kids should be in School, and there isn’t additional risk of transmission in school. But there isn’t a scientific basis for the switch, at least he didn’t lay one out.Let me know when they actually go back. Again, my child was in-person prior to the election and sent home after the election and has not gone back with no signs of doing so.

Wait, did schools reopen in VA? Have my kids been pulling the wool over my eyes these past two months?
Oh, they haven’t.
In fact, my child was in-person prior to the election. But then was sent home before Christmas. And has not gone back with no signs of returning this school year.

I was having some problems with app. Though I was in a place with not great connectivity.
Hit the Packers over, but AJones didn’t get 86 yards. Also got a 1st Q TD prop.
