After a few months Mitchell is the lone survivor so far? I'm not a Galdi guy, but hate to see people lose their gig.

Galdi had a Saturday morning show prior to his weekday morning drive slot.  It focused on the Nats and Orioles.  It was great radio, something that was missing from sports radio.

The dude is not a receiving threat at all. It's a tell if he is on the field. I'd shy away from Jonnu becaues his pricetag will be really high but he is a two way guy who blocks well

Fair enough and you are right that he must have been involved given the first round status but I doubt he impressed JDR during his rookie year in which they overlapped

Is there a good source that calls out snap counts with pass/run splits?  I too like to have personnel that doesn’t provide a tell like Ryan Grant and Desean Jackson.  The little I saw of Tenn, it didn’t seem like it was a dramatic split even though he’s not a primary passing target.  Would be interested in seeing numbers one way or the other.

Jonnu Smith is one I like.

I see Kyle Rudolph is complaining in Minnesota too.

I actually like the other Tenn TE Swaim.  He’s a willing in-line blocker and we are definitely missing that currently. I like JSmith too, but I feel like Swaim would be a better deal.

  4. Moses played a few snaps this year at left tackle.  Could he effectively make a full time switch there?  Just thinking about flexibility if they come across a good RT prospect. (After reading KDawg’s writeup in the draft thread)

Already planning a trip to Vegas to watch us whoop some Raider booty. Hoping its on a long weekend.

That’s my plan too.  Fingers crossed for Columbus Day weekend.  I usually go  to one away game a year.  With no trip this past year, I’ve got some pent up energy. However with legal online betting in Va now, Vegas’ appeal goes down a little.

My view is that Heinicke did everything asked of him as a starter.  So keep him as a starter until he fails.  Sometimes you need to simplify decision-making.  Forget his lack of pedigree.  Forget his arm strength.  What did he do when called upon in a game situation?  Go by that. And by that measure, he hasn't failed yet.

Is it realistic to think that Heinicke and Allen could combine for 16 starts before we are on our third QB?

You're gonna love this.  QB domino's on Cowherd (idiot)

    Jets - Watson

    WFT - Darnold

    Houston - Zac Wilson

    Colts - Stafford

    Lions - Fields

    49ers - Keep Jimmy G

    Falcons - Keep Ryan

    Panthers - Lance

    Cowboys - Keep Dak

    Pats - Mac Jones

Doesn’t seem all that far fetched, but I’d sit out of the Darnold piece unless they are giving him away for like a fifth.

The better strategery would be to trade Jonathan Allen and a 3rd for Stafford.  Allen will be a free agent after next season, and he's already making 10.5 million in 2021.  He'll be due to get an enormous contract in 2022 - when we already have 2 outstanding backup DT's that will have no reason to stay if we lock up Allen and then Payne the next year.  We want to keep both Ion and Settle for the long run, and Payne is the key to our run defense - not to mention he had 2 sacks against TB.  That leaves Allen as the odd man out.  As good as Allen is, he's easily replacable.  And as good a leader he is, this is Chase Young's team.

If you are a rebuilding Detroit, would you rather have 1 year of Allen and a 3rd or the 21st pick?  I don’t think that offer will be competitive with Indy.

If any slight mutual interest with the Colts became proven, we’re in trouble. You go into the territory of upping the offer to force the Lions into a corner.

If a 1 and 3 is being talked about, I think we have to offer more. I do think his value is being slightly under baked.

Wouldn’t surprise me if it takes a 1 and 2 for Stafford plus mid round change back. Maybe a 4th or 5th back from them.

If you’re Detroit does trading Stafford out of conference outweigh the difference of Was 1&3 and Indy’s 1&3 which is roughly equivalent to a third round comp pick?

Yeah, those 3 blue-chippers would be the best players on our roster. Their blue-chip players are high end, tops at their position good. We aren't quite there, Scherff is a notch, maybe even two below Nelson, and we don't have a LBer worthy of holding the Maniacs jock.

You’d trade Chase Young for Buckner straight up?

Dave Ramsey. He makes a killing off of people that he tells to stop spending money. His solutions are a combination shame and Jesus. He sucks, but boomers who spent 120% of their income for decades keep paying for his products.

I read some stories about him recently.  Seems like an awful person who aspires to be a cult leader.  However I am amazed by the success of people like him and Suze Orman.

The first place schedule thing is vastly overrated. We have very little disadvantage on the schedule as opposed to say, Philly who finished last.

All NFCE teams play the AFC West and NFC South next year— home/away is pretty determined in rotating basis. So 14 of the 16 (or 17) games on our schedule next year were locked in regardless of where we finished.

The standings only determine 2 (and probably 3 now) games. We get the Seahawks at home and Packers on the road based on how we finished. But the Giants play the Rams and Cowboys play the Cardinals and Eagles play 49ers based on same criteria— and honestly it’s entirely possibly that our game against Seattle is the easiest of those match ups next year.

Assuming the league goes to 17 games, we get Buffalo— not yet determined where. A tough game for sure. But the Giants will play Miami, and who knows, maybe they will be equal to or better than Buffalo next year. I’d also expect NE to be better as well and they will play Dallas.

So for me, there is no hand-wringing over the schedule.

We will for sure be placed more prominently next year. I bet we are back on SNF at least once, will probably get 1-2 MNF games, the standard Thursday game and likely be the late featured game at least once or twice. We won’t be all over the National schedule or anything, but certainly more than the past few years. And if we were to land a top veteran QB, that could increase as well.

How do we know the 17th game is Buffalo and not Pitt or Tenn.  Is this going to be a rotating thing like division opponents?

WR Kendrick Bourne is another to keep an eye on, depending on how we intend to address that position.

I’d put him in a group with Isiah McKenzie and John Ross as speedsters who could be a second FA-WR option if the price is right.  Don’t want these guys at Paul Richardson prices.

Once our elderly pitching corps is finally put out to pasture, we will be the Angels for at least a few years. Once-in-a-generation player, a couple other impactful players in the lineup, no young pitching depth that we can rely on. We'll be too good to tank, but not deep enough to make the playoffs with any regularity.

It's frustrating, but nothing to despair over, because we were consistently great for 8 years and took advantage of our window. That's how professional sports work.

It doesn’t have to be that way.  I’m not seeing Rizzo giving out crippling Pujols/Hamilton type contracts.  There’s work to be done, no doubt, but Rizzo has proven he can build teams through multiple ways: High-end FAs, Draft, International signings, trades, bargain FAs.

Draftkings went live in VA.  lets go!

I was having some problems with app.  Though I was in a place with not great connectivity.

Hit the Packers over, but AJones didn’t get 86 yards.  Also got a 1st Q TD prop.
