    If I hadn't, I'd be taking a trip to Munch-ville right now...

Hey now, its always a great time to go to munch-ville... as to which I mean snacks.

I find myself just grabbing a handful of things that are less than good for me and catching up w/ the various surges in the thread. Even binge a few of the posted vids. Good times.

That being said I am like getting alarmingly more chill getting closer and closer to draft day. You'd think it would be the opposite.

Honestly its a bit concerning. Need a little stress to get the heart racing. Spice up life a bit.

Maybe I just feel good about the position we are in. Who knows.

One question. I haven’t seen asked is - can we design run plays for JD, or do you think that is too risky given his frame?

    You have to.

He has to much ability in that department not to utilize it.

    Your running that dude regardless.

Its part of the reason why being great at protecting yourself is gonna be vital. You are going to use his legs by offensive design.

Also, it’s 4th and goal, can we QB sneak with JD?

He did QB sneaks in college but there is no guarantee he can be effective at the NFL level at it. Moving an NFL pile requires a different amount of strength.

Personally, with him its not something I'd want in the regular tool bag. I'd prefer to see read option takes for short yardage to give yourself a numbers advantage. Very effective.

Logan Thomas-esk under center substitutes are also on the table if you gotta sneak.

I don’t think there is a good comp for him coming out. I don’t think we have ever seen an above average passer with great mechanics, great processing speed and great ball placement / timing AND elite running capability coming out of the draft like this.

Yup. Usually the high end dual threat prospect that comes out is pretty much all athlete and a mess on the passing side without the developed mechanics or fundamental skills/reading ability, or they lack any kind of production entirely and are just good bodies. (see Ant Rich) Dude is kinda a unicorn.

Its very hard to find a good comp.

Its why I settled on sport package Hurts. Better performance model, better transmission/mechanics, better wheels and a whole lotta weight removed via carbon fiber. Basically the Shelby Cobra to Hurts Mustang.

I think apart from the reporting Keim has fallen in love with Daniels.  Every time he says something good about Maye or McCarthy he ALWAYS adds “and Daniels can do that too” or something to that effect.

    Dang.

There is a Rick n' Morty reference involving elbows that would be perfect here but I dare not post it...

Its like a shot in the 4th Qtr and I cant take it. Hurts the feels.

I think as he said, Keim took gauge of the landscape, saw that the viewpoint from NFL folks is somewhat significantly slanted towards JD and has worked from there. Then it has progressively grown. To his credit, he is always careful to preface what he says tho. Its not just "him" thinking JD can do this or that, he will quote Dan Quinn saying he can do whatever, or some people he talks to and trusts.

Peters: Had no preference on QBs in this draft before taking job, was not scouting QBs for SF last year.

    Thought this was interesting.

We all figured this was a better GM destination than most since we had a easy pathway to a new QB, but according to Peters he did not study QBs last year.

I can buy that he was not intimately going over QBs w/ a fine tooth comb (SF had no real reason to chase one) but I gotta assume a guy in his position would at least know this was a "QB strong" draft.

I think that knowledge helped lure him here, but it seems there was no specific guy that he came in with penciled in within his mind. Made the process even more open.

Ok the Vikes scheduling a dinner at this hour is indeed juicy news!

    Scheduled last week

"It's unclear why it took this long, but the Vikings finally have a private workout scheduled with LSU quarterback and reigning Heisman winner Jayden Daniels, as Ian Rapaport of NFL Network first reported. It'll take place next Thursday in Louisiana, according to KSTP's Darren Wolfson."

I guess if we draft Daniels you all are just gonna move on and follow Maye wherever he goes. Cool.

Man, you almost hope so in the moment, Yeesh.

Whoever we draft will find a wave of new support tho. I will never doubt this places overall ability to put on the burgundy tinted glasses, so I'm not exactly worried in the longer term.

  8. Unicorn Overlord is pretty legit. You "code" your own strategies and priorities and is just a different kind of experience.

Getting a lot of burn on that right now.

Playing on expert. Wasn't too difficult so far for the most part, but the difficulty is certainly ramping up at about the 70% mark. It does not help that I run practically every unit which spreads out the XP.

I like tactic games that can bring something a little different so I've been eating good recently with P5 Tactica and UO.

Watering it down with Helldivers 2. Shallow, but very easy mindless fun.

Game feels like it knows its a game too, and that is refreshing.
