  1. Would make a ton of sense for Atlanta to take Jameson Williams. They are at the opposite end of the spectrum. They can afford to wait because they are going to suck anyway and it only helps their 2023 QB tank.
  2. Imagine going into a season with an actual predictable skill position depth chart and an actual QB QB Wentz WR 1. McLaurin 2.Olave 3.Samuel 4.Brown 5.Cam Sims 6.Milne RB 1.Walker 2.Gibson 3.McKissick practice squad: Patterson TE: 1.Logan 2.Bates 3.FA/mid to late round draft choice 4. Practice squad: Reyes That looks like an actual football team. And it would be backed by a decent defense.
  3. Holy cow. This is my number one realistic draft want. Id be over the moon enthusiastic to watch the season if we could add Olave/Wilson/London and Walker. Look at the lateral agility. The contact balance. The elusiveness in the hole. He’d easily be our best back since Portis. Honestly, Id try to move up a little in the 2nd to try to make sure we get him. And I don’t really care what else we get in the draft. Those two picks and late round depth. Sign people in FA to fill holes. Every team has holes in the salary cap era.
  4. This is exactly how I feel. The biggest way we could help our defense is to upgrade our offense. And with Terry as WR1, a WR2 from the draft, and Samuel at a lot, where he was actually productive for Carolina, We’d have our best 3 WR’s since I can remember. Jordan Reed was great, and Chris Thompson could catch the hell out of the ball, so it wouldn’t necessarily be the best past catching skill group, but it could be, given help and some luck. Imagine how good our Kirk Cousins/Garçon/Jackson teams would have been with this defense. On that note, I’d also be in favor of upgrading TE and RB. I’d be absolutely ecstatic if we grabbed any of the top 3 WR’s at 11 and then Kenneth Walker at 47. This is a great point. In general, I think giving RB’s hefty second contracts is bad practice. Draft a bell cow now and trade Gibson and draft his replacement.
  5. If Devin Lloyd and Jamison Williams go too 10, it’s really going to push some guys down.
  6. Hamilton clocked in at 21mph on GPS and you can see his range in a lot of plays. I wouldn’t want him lined up in man coverage on a quick guy, but he has great instincts and despite his poor 40, does have very good top end speed. I’m not sure why is 4.7 is given more credence than his official combine time of 4.59. Hamilton isn’t, “slow”. But he’s also not Daxton hill quick. FWIW, Ed Reed ran a 4.57 at the combine and Sean Taylor a 4.51 at his pro day. https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2952797-notre-dame-safety-kyle-hamilton-is-unicorn-of-2022-nfl-draft-class.amp.html
  7. Sims seems to have been best with QB’s and it usually is in selecting QB’s with traits. As a generality, he also heavily favors explosion in other positions. I’m not sure I trust him with WR evaluations. No Olave or Wilson, and LOVED Dyami last year.
  8. This is a pretty enjoyable safety break down
  9. I think it’s almost a given that McLaurin stays. I know you don’t. Retaining McLaurin is a necessity. If we were a good team, with a good reputation, it might even be smarter to trade him than to pay a 27yo WR 25 million a year. But in the same way that it would really help us to win this year in terms or retaining and recruiting free agents and building a winning culture, it’s necessary to retain Terry, both to win this year, and to show players that we will take care of our guys. KDawg, I wanted to ask you about Drake London, as one of his more avid supporters. Should we be at all worried that he only lines up on the left, outside? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a top WR prospect that only lined up on one side in college. Did they do that just for him, or is that how they were using their top WR before Drake London? Do you think that’s going to make his transition into the league more difficult, as he works on refining his route tree on the right side and doesn’t have that muscle memory and the feel for everything from previous reps? Interestingly, I did notice that Drake London is left handed from watching his basketball highlights.
  10. This was in my YouTube feed right after making that post about Olave.
  11. This is exactly how I feel about them. I think. I wouldn’t be butt hurt if we chose Olave over Wilson but I’d prefer Drake London. Regarding Olave, I wouldn’t be excited to watch his career and performances the way I was with CY and have been with other more elite athletes. But, I feel really good about his fit and his floor and I’d be super excited to watch our offense with Terry, and Olave on the outside and Curtis Samuel at slot, with Wentz getting them the ball. It’s a night and day upgrade of the offense compared to where we were just before Rivera. Night and day.
  12. Same, I think. I’d really love to add a legit #2 outside receiver and Kenneth Walker. I need to not get my hopes up.
  13. I think 2nd/3rd is actually lined up nicely for safety and and LB also. WR in R1 and LB or safety in rd 2 could be great for us. RB if one of the top 2 fall. I don’t see that happening though.
  14. I’d love this, or Wilson/London, but I think it’s too much to hope for. I don’t think one of those RB’s is there for us at 47.
  15. Do you guys see either Breece Hall or Kenneth Walker being available at 47?
  16. Pickens feels like the kind of guy that will be chosen later and could be a huge steal. Lowest drop rate in college per the PFF chart SIP posted earlier. Watch the body control and hands.
  17. Dang. Knew I liked that kid. Lots of Olave speculation. I agree that with Wentz and McLaurin and Olave and Samuel and Gibson and Mckissic, that we should have an offense comparable to Dallas. On paper.
  18. Killing it SIP. Also, I’m probably going to say this every year, and I know he could be abrasive, but I miss having Volsmet in this thread.
  19. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/04/07/tyrann-mathieu-has-virtual-visit-with-eagles/ Anyone post that Honey Badger had a virtual visit with the Eagles?
  20. SIP, I don’t know if it bothers me if he runs a 4.62.
  21. I tried talking myself into Jamin, but in retrospect it looks even worse than it did the day they chose him. I really think they chose him because they thought he had the size to play MIKE. Knowing he’s a WILL, it’s even more apparent how much better off we would have been if we’d taken JOK. JOK was a coverage player tailor made for the modern NFL and is also a much more physically imposing tone setter in terms of being a striker. He could have played WILL and Buffalo Nickel. I’d bet a good bit that if they knew they were choosing between two WILLS that they would have taken JOK. With regards to Olave, I just think the fit is so good. But we may be passing on better defensive players. I’m still hoping Drake London falls.
  22. Exactly. They Jamin and Olave are almost opposites in regards to the kind of prospect they are. Olave was productive from the moment he stepped on campus and has been very consistent. He’s a good bit not great athlete but is super instinctive and polished and has a great feel for the game. If we take him, I could see him come in and grab 60-65 balls as a rookie like Calvin Ridley. I think that as a selection, a plug and play WR might also make a greater impact for the team than a high end LB, for instance. I think adding another high end playmaker might add a whole new dynamic to the offense and change it a lot, while improving at LB, S, or CB would be more of an incremental improvement where we are getting decreasing returns. The more I think about it and the more I watch Jameson Williams, I’d also be fine with him in a trade back. I think he’s going to be really good. There is something to be said however for the team needing to perform this year in order to take another step. To be more attractive to FA, even our own, etc.
  23. These movement skills are not looking good. Watch this and then Olave back to back. Eesh. I always had him pegged as a possible injury steal, but if we go WR early, I’m not even sure there is room in the WR room for another guy.
  24. Man, Breece Hall and Kenneth Walker. And Olave. We are looking at building a very potent offense. That would be such a welcome change.
  25. Ooooh. Kenneth Walker too. Looks like we really are looking at loading up on weapons.
