How does Heineke do worse than that? It’s almost statistically impossible.
He played terrible in this game. A lot of 3rd and longs that didn't get converted.

i mean, I think it's probably pretty easy to believe that Jerruh did that, too.
I don't think Jerry is a pillar of purity, but it's kind of hard to believe he assaulted a woman while virtually the entire roster was there watching.

She claims several current and former members of the team were on hand for the spectacle, including former head coach Jason Garrett, star running back Ezekiel Elliott, Tyrone Crawford, Tyron Smith, and others. Other named witnesses include Demarcus Lawrence as well as Eugenia Jones, who is married to Jerry.
If it was Dan Snyder being accused I'd believe her.

The last ten games of Heinicke starting last season, he had 11 touchdowns and 11 total turnovers. The team managed to go 5-5 in spite of his poor play. I don't see this team getting even remotely close to .500 for these last games.

I thought they already benched Trubisky for Pickett?
They did, but Pickett left the game with a concussion and Trubisky looked pretty good in relief.

You guys know exactly what you're doing. Stop playing dumb, please.
I'm patiently waiting for you to point to the one post where I said he was like "Russell Wilson or something".

Did you miss that they already punted the season?
When?

The Heinicke Hive's revisionist history is friggin' weird. Talking about him like he's prime Russell Wilson or something.
Who here is doing that? Just give me one example of anyone proclaiming him to be "prime Russell Wilson or something".

No one did this. The "Hive" posters are the ones who constantly post about said "Hive" and I have to go back 5 or 6 pages to make sure I'm not losing my mind because I don't see anyone "Heinicke Hive" people loudly proclaiming anything about him.

The "f it, Terry's down there somewhere" was entertaining last season.

I want to see Howell at some point this year. Rivera stubbornly thinks this team is still in it (and technically, they are) so he's going to roll with Heinicke. Hopefully once mathematically eliminated, they play Howell.

The future apparently doesn't look bright anymore according to the changed thread title.

Guy gets killed for holding the ball too long, first read looks good, and you want him to move to the next read?
If he's not going to look at his second read, maybe don't try to throw it 150 mph behind your first read 5 yards away. And if your second read is Terry McLaurin, who is wide open, yes, he should look that way.

This is like rookie QB who had minimum college experience level bad. Look at how open Terry is on this play. Never even looks at him.

How many more excuses is he going to get though? He can’t keep getting chances just cause of “oh, my QB was the problem this season, wait till you see what I can REALLY do with a different QB!”
This is exactly what everyone was saying last season. If he got a legit starter, the offense would be explosive. This offense has not had a legit starter in it yet.

Is it even remotely possible that Turner's boring and bland play calling is because he doesn't have any faith whatsoever in Wentz? Seems so bizarre that this offense couldn't score (or even move the ball effectively) against the Bears.

What I, and I believe many fans want, and what Ron will do are two different things. It appears we will see much more of Carson despite many, if not most fans preferring to get Howell some game experience.
I'm crossing my fingers that they'll sit Wentz out of the Green Bay game due to injuries and that opens the door to introduce Howell. He didn't look completely lost in the preseason like Matt Corral, so there's hope on that front.

That makes zero sense. If you had no intertest in seeing Howell why did you draft him? Sure it may have started with let him play behind Carson but that means Carson has to play well enough to stay on the field. When he is not, it's next man. It's up to the coaches to get him ready.
I want to never see Wentz take another snap for this offense and want to see Howell start against Green Bay. But you don't give an impassioned speech dropping f-bombs left and right declaring the 99 yard passer as the guy you wanted and bench him for Howell.

And to the TH fans saying bring him, please just stop it. There is honestly even less reason to bring TH in than leave Carson there unless Howell gets injured.
If Rivera has no interest in seeing Howell this year, or thinks he's not ready, and wants to secure a higher draft pick, then yes, Carson should play the rest of the season.

Brian Robinson got us our only TD last night and he gets left off??
Yes. Run game didn't get going until Gibson in the second half. Averaged 7 YPC. Robinson had 30 yards on 10 attempts before they let Gibson run the ball. Velus Jones was largely responsible for the TD.

For as much as you can point to how horrible Fields looked, I remembered that our defense made Tom Brady look pretty pedestrian last year. At least last night the D deserves a lot of kudos, even if they almost let it slip away with that Fields scamper at the end.
I have no delusions about the defense turning a corner or everything because Fields is legitimately like one of the 3 worst quarterbacks I've ever seen play. Similar to the defense in 2020. They looked like world beaters. But they played against Ben DiNucci, Andy Dalton, Nick Mullens, Ryan Finley, and Nate Sudfeld.

Wentz and Rivera has become a General Hospital level soap opera. It feels like its going in an odd direction -- woudn't surprise me that the addition to the weird journey Wentz's career has been on to end up being the death of Ron's coaching career. I am definitely not one of the Wentz haters here. But I'll say the Wentz stuff is getting really weird -- sort of McNabb round 2.
Ron being overly defensive about wanting Wentz makes him look so much worse. Maybe he wants to get fired at this point.

This game was won for three reasons:
1. The defense
2. Antonio Gibson
3. Justin Fields

It is pretty clear by now that we did not significantly upgrade at the position. That has to be one of the worst performances from a quarterback that I can remember since some of those brutal RG3 games in 2014. Alex Smith was boring as watching paint dry, but he could at least sustain drives. I thought Wentz was supposed to play great 90% of the game and then just completely lose it for the remaining 10%? What we are seeing is meh to terrible for 98% of the game and then we get 2% of wow or good. He isn't good in any other system other than Reich's. And if Turner won't tailor his system to different quarterbacks, he needs to go too.
