Yeah man, I’m sure they think the losses are all on Wentz and that Heineke’s should have been playing the whole time.

Yeah man, that's exactly what I said and that's exactly what Terry was trying to convey.

"That makes things a smooth transition.  I think his ability just to extend plays is big for us.  The heart with which he plays with I feel a lot of our guys galvanize behind that.  I know he's going to give us a good chance to be successful this weekend.  I think he's just a guy who always, you can't just measure him by his size or his arm or some of the intangibles that maybe that position is always categorized as or identified as.  A lot of the things he brings to the table you can't quite quantify in just his ability to not quit.  He comes into every game with confidence that he can help us win and he's going to try to make any play possible to help us do that.  So whether it's making plays down the field, extending the plays with his legs, diving for pylons, like he's always a guy that's just going to leave it out on the field.  I think anybody who's on this team's going to respect that.  Just his ability to leave every ounce of what he's got on the field, we all respect that and we want to do whatever we can to support him."

I don’t think anyone has ever suggested that the guys don’t like Heineke.  I’m sure they both like and respect him.  Why wouldn’t they?

I’m pretty sure we’ve all worked with people that aren’t the best at their job, but they try hard and we like them anyways.

There's a difference between liking a nice guy who just isn't very good at their job and then liking a guy and thinking they can win with him.  I think it's the latter when you listen to Terry's comments.

Yes. "He leaves it all out on the field" is what someone says when the only thing they have to say about a player is that he plays on the same field as them.

Listen to his full answer.  You usually get the "next man up" canned answer when they guy coming in is total trash.  You can tell the players like him.  Which is good.

I'm pretty sure he changed it because Commander Carson is going to be healing his broken finger for the next 4-6 weeks.

It was changed, pre injury, when Wentz was stinking up the joint and converting 3 third downs out of 22.  Now he's angry that the backup is playing...because the starter is injured.  And he wants to throw a rookie who, by all accounts from every single person who covers this team, is not ready, to the wolves.

Oh, you didn't hear? He got injured.

and it said Howell bright the future is, like don't start **** sack Tay Tay. Couch that bum and start Howell.

You changed it before the injury and were conspicuously absent in this thread the last 4-5 weeks.  Commander Carson was a terrible fit for this team.  Howell isn't going to start.  He isn't ready.  Barring injury, unless you aren't a fan of this team, you're going to have to get behind "Tay Tay" because he is now the starter for the team you allege to be a fan of (while also saying you are an Eagles fan, which would explain your loyalty to Wentz).

It's dumb starting Heinicke. Guy sucks.

He's the backup and the starter is injured.  What else are they to do?  I'd say trading for and paying $28 million dollars to a quarterback who either is on par with or marginally better than the backup whom most people who incessantly post in this thread believe should still be sleeping on his sister's couch is dumb.

Some talk here about Scott Turner here.  I bring this here is if Scott told people it opens up the playbook, that's interesting. Reasom why I said that is Cooley brought up an alternate idea as a possibility for the basic vanilla offense under Wentz which is maybe they think that fits the limitations Wentz has right now with the offense.

I can't remember who it was, but one of the local guys brought up this same point a few weeks ago, before I heard Cooley suggest it on Sheehan's podcast.

It will be interesting to hear about Howell at practice now that he has an opportunity to take backup reps and not just scout team stuff.

Howell is intriguing to me because a lot of people had him going in the 1st round before his last season in college.  I just want him to play at some point this season because I think Rivera & company are gone after this year and whoever the new head coach is going to be should see what could potentially be there with Howell.

  8. I think the reality for Heinicke starting is at best, you are going to have peaks and valleys with him.  He'll have a terrible sub 30 QBR game and then have a solid, game managing like one the next week.  At worst, he's going to look even worse than Wentz has in the last few weeks.  Either way, I still think we're going to see Howell at some point.
