I also realized that’s where Bran gave Arya the dagger in episode 1 of this season and that’s where she killed the NK, kinda cool I guess.

This is a big disappointment too. The NK and the WW have done nothing but walk around and look moody the entire series. You had to think there would be some payoff. Some battle with their lances and swords since we actually now have weapons they can’t shatter but nope. They just walk around, do nothing and then don’t stop the one person actually sneaking up on the NK. 

Seriously even my girlfriend said this, the only time one of them did something was fight Jon beyond the wall at Hardhome right? Really actually kinda pissed we never saw the NK fight. 

The more I think about it the more I dislike the fact that the white walkers on the horses with the spears did absolutely nothing. They were the bad mofos and we only saw like one fight Jon (Hardhome episode) and that was it during the entire season right? The episode was awesome for a few scenes but I the more I think about it the more disappointed with the ending. I’ve watched since day one and killing the NK was just too easy, I was hoping for a way more shocking ending to that episode.  Their was just so much buildup to who the NK actually was and then boom he’s dead nothing, Bran says nothing also and only tells Theon thanks. I hope they got something good for the last 3 episodes. 

And what happened to ghost? 

The Dothraki got smoked clean 

Damn not as many deaths as I expected, kinda sad we don’t have worry about the white walkers anymore 

Saw it last night. 

I cannot wait till Sunday night, I am counting down the hours at this point. I might watch it completely naked

So all these people saying Cersei could make a deal with the NK? That just sounds weird to me since he’s never talked in the show. Is he going to start talking or is it going to be a head nod on whatever agreement they come upon? Sounds awkward to me. Also if he had control over the mountain wouldn’t he have control over Jon snow then in theory also? Since he died and came back

That would be so awesome. I keep hearing that the show couldn’t afford dire wolves (but then saw Ghost last night) so if they did that I would probably get a half chub 

Grey worm is for sure getting smoked next episode, I don’t think they could have made that any more clear 

Maybe the Knight king won’t be in the battle for Winterfell but is on his way to Kings landing on the Ice Dragon

I think the whole 3 dragons 3 dragon riders is more book stuff that won't impact the show. Just based on the show, there is no way the NK could be a Targaryen because he was created at least 500 years before Aegon conquered the 7 kingdoms. It's also not a foregone conclusion that only Targaryens can ride dragons, they just are the only ones that have so far. If it was worldwide knowledge that only Targaryens can do that, then Dany should have been losing her **** when Jon did. 

 

I'm almost positive that Bran will be the NK though, somehow. There has to be an answer to the question: "What is the point of the 3 eyed raven? What does he do? And why did he specifically seek out Bran when he could have sought out anybody else to replace him?"

I really hope that is not true. That has been a theory for some time now that he maybe got stuck in a time loop to try and stop the walkers from being made and was then turned into one. I hope it’s something/someone no one would expect coming

Well that’s a debate there, supposedly the knight king is a first man who was turned to a WW from the children of the forrest. Everyone wants to speculate on who he is but there is just no way he can be a significant figure. He was one of the first white walkers and after the children of the Forrest defeated him after they betrayed them he retreated to the land of always winter and stayed there for years and years.

I didn't buy Sam's emotion over his asshole father and brother being killed for not bending the knee. He understands how these things work, you don't bend the knee...you die. Period. Also, his father basically sentenced him to death by sending him to the Night's Watch, with the expectation that he had no hope of surviving there. His brother was basically a mini version of his dad. It just seemed like the writer's wanted us to completely forgot only Dany has been treated worse by her own family, and want us to believe Sam should react like a normal person who had a loving family. 

 

Other than that, I enjoyed the episode and expected them to do a setup episode before getting into the action. 

 

I can see Dany not believing Jon is the rightful heir, and she'll use Sam's response to her killing his family as her excuse. Bronn going north to assassinate Tyrion and Jaime is just an excuse to get him into the action. Maybe it's because I like his character, but I don't think he'll go through with it. They've been slowly developing his character where he cares less and less about the riches and titles that he's earned as a sellsword. 

 

I think Gendry is going to transform her Valerian knife into a valerian staff. Maybe it'll be influential in bringing down the Night King's dragon. 

See I bought Sams emotion there, unlike his father Sam isn’t an asshole and had a heart of gold, he wanted nothing more than their respect and somehow still loved them. That would be something if Ayra took down the ice dragon, that was my first thought when she asked Gendry to make her that special weapon. 

Yeah I’m a pretty avid thrones fan, I have a stark flag in front of my house right now like a complete loser. I was sorta let down last night since I’ve watched this show since season 1 episode one and I’ve waited long enough for winter, I’m ready to see death and **** go down. But I know that kind of episode is needed for what lies ahead.

What the **** is Last Hearth?

The Umber lord kid was from Last Hearth, it’s north of Winterfell. He told Dany he needed wagons and horses to go north and retrieve soldiers/his people for the war. He was then met there by the Knight king and his army and proceeded to get nailed to the wall. Then Turmond and them where obviously behind the Knight king and happen to run into Eddison Tollet there. Now they need to race around the knight king to get to Winterfell before they do. 

So Tormund and them are behind the White walkers, the dead are in between Last Hearth and Winterfell. While Tormund and them are at last Hearth. Hopefully the horses they talked about make it around them to Winterfell, and theirs no way the Knight king and his army don’t make it to Winterfell in the next episode.

As for the episode, those reunions matter because they are normal reactions the people would have in the world. To skip over them is unrealistic and a hide disservice to the world building this show has established. These are the most important people in the world meeting in an apocalyptic time for their world. They need time to talk and flesh some of this stuff out

I agree with what you’re saying here for sure but after waiting almost 2 years I thought it would have been more of an intense episode, especially how their is only 5 episodes left. I think I hyped myself up too much but in hindsight that episode was necessary.

Kinda underwhelming for the first episodes, like Bran said “We don’t have time for this” I though we had enough character reunions last season. I won 25 bucks though because I bet against a main character dying, but anyways we all know it’s gunna get Lit.
