  1. Matte finishes on helmets do look great if done correctly. My favorite VT helmet is the black matte helmet from their 2010 pro combat uniform. Having said that, I don't know if our shade of burgundy really lends itself to a great matte finish. I'd have to see it before I was comfortable saying it was a good idea.
  2. Those mockups are really good I just wish the pant stripes matched the sleeve and socks. Otherwise A+ Wouldn't mind a gold border around the jersey numbers wither but I can live without
  3. Interesting to hear that. The reviews have all been solid but the trailers haven't impressed, granted its hard for a horror flick trailer to give a lot away. Watched Iron Man 3 for the first time the other day. It was in a plane. Honestly, had no interest in seeing it in theaters and seeing it didn't change my opinion. Had some fun parts but really continued the decline started in the 2nd one. I didn't care for it really but I won't go into a long review of why.
  4. Christian Bale, say no more. I am there. Love that guy. That's a really good cast and the trailer looks good. Should be fun
  5. I personally couldn't stand the throwbacks from last year. All I want this year is to wear burgundy/gold, white/burgundy and white/gold. If we do that I'll be fine.
  6. Finally saw Star Trek: Into Darkness at the local $1 theater. I loved it and appreciated it for what it was. Sure there were plot holes but its not like the science fiction genre in general isn't full of material with plot holes. These are still good movies even if they are a little too action oriented as opposed to the more thematic human focused TOS and movies. Spoilers: I also somehow stayed away from any spoilers this whole time and had no idea Khan was going to be in it. What I appreciate about these last two movies is the whole altered timeline/universe which gives them a chance to tell familiar stories/events in different ways and for characters to be altered. It really opens up alot of possibilities in the universe for them to take their own direction while not being tied to all the canon that has previously been established. I'm ok with that. I liked the Kirk death scene and the role reversal between Kirk and Spock in those key moments. It didn't have the same impact in this movie because it was obvious he was going to be revived and it wasn't built on decades of friendship. it worked for these movies/timeline.
  7. That's great. What is with all the t-shirts though? Has to be against policy. Then again, that's a triple A club at best.
  8. To highlight how ugly it is without any burgundy trim around the collar? Even if you didn't like the polo collar look, there should be trim all the way around it. That just looks so plain.
  9. I think the Lakers tank this year(not intentionally) all the while letting Kobe shoot as much as he wants when he comes back. The Lakers have one goal and that is to trim salary so they will likely pick up as many expiring contracts and one year deals as they can. Lebron won't come at all. I could see Melo coming to LA though. He loves the big market which is why he wanted to go to NY and he and Kobe are pretty close. If there is anyone that Kobe would welcome to usher in the new era/pass the torch it would be Melo. That would be a start and there have been rumors for a couple years now that Love would want to go to LA. Melo can see the writing on the wall in NY I think. The Knicks are a 5 seed at best. The Lakers could still do some things with that huge FA class looming but I doubt they will pull anything smart off though simply because they have no idea what they are doing anymore under Kid Buss.
  10. I'm a huge Hunnam fan so I am excited for Pacific Rim too. I'm sure the dialogue and plot will merely be serviceable enough to setup the huge action scenes and that's fine. This looks like one of those movies you can just get lost in in the beautiful action and get taken back to that childhood feeling of watching movies, even if it is over the top and ridiculous. Count me in.
  11. This was a really, really fun movie. Anybody who enjoys a nifty horror flick, definitely check this out. This movie is currently available on Netflix instant streaming, and VHS2 will be available soon on Netflix. That movie was disturbing. That's all I'm going to say. Had some neat concepts but disturbing. There is a sequel on the way though. I think my favorite story was the skype BF/GF one, that was the most interesting. I watched it awhile ago once it just came to redbox and now I have fears of waking up from being stabbed in the neck too lol.
  12. That's funny but yeah it's a great movie. Glad you finally caught it. Looking at that poster, I had no idea Laurence Fishburne used to go by Larry.
  13. That's a lot of ego that has to mesh with Deron Williams, along with a team already comprised of a fair amount of mental midgets, with a legendary player, but rookie head coach. Good luck with that... Yeah the hiring of Jason Kidd makes even less sense now. At least the Heat fans should be hearing less of the "built a super team" crap now that the Nets appear to intend to buy a championship... and will pay an insane amount of money for it. I bet Rondo is calling his agent right about now. He's 27... no way he wants any part of this rebuild. The Celtics are not tanking with any subtlety. This is a passionate tank job. I don't think Rondo is the type of player that wants to be waving his hat around while riding a bomb down to last place. Celtics are going to suck for three years at least. I don't think its a tank job, getting a top pick is just an added benefit. There was no need to keep Garnett and Pierce at this point. They aren't going anywhere with that team. It makes sense to start over now that Doc wanted out and they are old. They were held together by a fabric last season anyway. At least they got something for them in 1st round draft picks rather than sticking with them and ending up with nothing like the original Big 3 did. Too late for that. Honestly, Laker fans should be happy Dwight is going. Lakers are dodging a train wreck.
  14. I like the sparring helmet the baby has on lol. His face is great.
  15. That's what movies are all about man, that connection. Sorry to hear about that but glad you are in a good place now. I also loved this movie. I've read a lot about it and everybody says the script and cast did a fantastic job bringing such a serious subject to life. I think the movie resonated and was very believable which is why it got the praise it did, among many other reasons. I appreciate you posting your thoughts and experiences on it as well.
  16. One word: Awesome Everything was awesome. Perfect cast that meshed well together. Great humor, great action, great everything. Another classic from Tarantino. Gotta love a man that knows his Ennio Morricone as well. This was one of my favorite movies from last year. It was indeed awesome. Leo and Waltzwere terrific and I loved the way the humor broke up the serious subject matter and horrific things that were going on. Very well done.
  17. ^^^ If you're gonna get caught cheating, you gotta hope it's as clean and friendly a confrontation as that. A scavenger hunt thrown in as a bonus? She's a keeper...
  18. Saw The Great Gatsby Saturday. It's always been my favorite book and I loved the movie. I don't understand all the criticism for the extravagance of the parties and the times. To me it was a realized version of how I always imagined the book to be. I think people just like to criticize Luhrmann without taking the context into account. I also liked the cross with hip hop. I thought it fit pretty well, the highlight was the apartment party scene to "Who Gon Stop Me" which I thought was very well done. Most of the themes and symbols from the book translated to the movie too which was my biggest fear. The acting was great as it always is with Leo but Edgerton did a fantastic job as Tom Buchanan too and I thought Carey Mulligan was a great fit for Daisy too.
  19. It would look very Oregon Duck-ish having a gold jersey but I think we could pull it off...
  20. If done correctly, a gold jersey would be really cool though I do not like either of the above pics of one.
  21. Agreed about Goodman. He just pops up in small roles and always hits a home run regardless of his character. Every time I see him appear in a movie I'm happy knowing he is going to nail it. ---------- Post added May-20th-2013 at 01:35 AM ---------- I saw this recently too and really liked it. I thought the characters were very believable and connected with viewers because of it and their symptoms. We all know similar people or people with their own personal issues and I think this movie was greatly helped by that and how well Cooper and Lawrence portrayed their characters. Didn't even feel like a chick flick to me. The lines weren't cheesy and cringeworthy either like most chick flicks. Seemed more like a drama framed around a love story which I was very appreciative of.
  22. Which is exactly why I don't remember who the poster was that had it in their sig
  23. ^^^ That used to be some poster's sig on here for along time. I don't remember who though.
