I just don't understand why the pitcher has to be singled out. All those other things you mentioned in your tongue in cheek post make perfect sense (though I would love to see football players play both sides of the ball again). The eight other players in the game play offense and defense. Why not the pitcher? Oh, and a sick tag by Phillips.

I really don't see why pitchers can't work on their hitting just like everyone else. I know they have a special position on the team, but surely they can devote some time to taking a few swings in the batting cage on their days off.

And the All-Star Break is upon is. This is my second favorite time of the baseball season (next to the playoffs, of course). This is a time for the teams to take a deep breath and get ready for the second half of the season and for everyone to just...enjoy the game, you know? Have a little bit of fun with a meaningless exhibition of the best there is in the game.

Daniel Tosh, once again, is on point. Icing has to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard of and it's one of ht reasons why I don't have many male friends. Seriously, who's the douchebag that came up with that?

Oh, and don't forget Negro League pitchers that seldom ever got relief and were on 1-2 day rotations. I don't know how Satchel Paige was able to do it so far into his 40s.
