And in the one they lost, Belichick basically made McVay his **** and out coached him by a mile. It was Bill’s 9,674 playoff game and 196th SB and he just foot stomped boy wonder.
Also, the Saints should have been in that SB if not for the literal worst non-call in the history of the NFL.That doesn't change the fact that they went. So n 4 years 2 appearances in sb? Yeah you take that and run with it. When's last time we can say that we done that?

I think people are parsing Reid's words a bit too much from that clip. Bieniemy does choose plays, call plays, install the offense. He is a bona fide offensive coordinator who does those things. The grey area, of, course, is that Reid still does some of that too. To what degree is unclear, but Bieniemy has handled those responsibilities in a far more expansive and involved way than Nagy or Pedersen.
Where do you get that that's what he was doing?
-
Now I'm indifferent about bienemy but I think him calling plays to the qb sounds different than him actually calling the plays and flow of the offense. Thats how I take it

Well the hugest problem that the oc will have is Ron won't let the oc hire their own staff which is why o Connell left in the first place

I think Jay's point among others isn't about a new coordinator but about a new system which are two different things. Changing from a WCO to another form of WCO isn't supposedly that big of a deal. But learning a whole new language and system, is a big deal, ala a QB who has always for example played in some form of WCO to a Coryell offense is a big shift. But shifting from one WCO to another, not anything radical.
Well the point would still remain about other offenses completely changing and getting instant results like those teams I mentioned. Now am I saying I know quite precisely what the language and systems are no but I can guarantee you that they are all not the same as it was previously. So it's still a bs point imo
-
I call total bs on a 3 year/4 year offensive system fully taking effect. There are time and time plenty of examples when teams switch coaches completely and new team performs better. It boils down to execution and doing what the players do best. Let's go down the example list
Giants this year. Jags this year. Vikings this year. Packers when lafleur got there. Mcvay when he first went to rams. Mcdaniels with the dolphins. The bears offense when they figured out how to use fields (goes back to doing what players do best) on and on and on.
It's a bs cop out excuse but I understand the importance of continuity so if it's same language then yes it'll be easier but to think that a quick turn around of offensive success can't happen or doesn't have a high chance of happening is normal I find that to be nonsense.

It is an absolute hard pass on Jay gruden for me. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying that he wouldn't be an upgrade over turner but thars not saying much. Why would we wanna go to a coach thar does the Same nonsensical stuff that turner does. Predictable, run on first down every drive. Etc etc. Only thing we're doing is going from manure oc to piss poor oc. Not gonna have the same smell but still gonna stink
