Rewarding scum sucks.
Dan is a pirate and we’re his prisoners. Paying pirate ransom sucks, but it’s better than the alternative. Thankfully we’re almost free.

Good question, bad coaching. From Keim:
Washington attempted 10 play-action passes, tied for its third lowest total of the season. This should be an O built off PA, especially considering how they've been running the ball. Oh, they managed 157 yards off PA -- second highest of the season.
Exactly, I distinctly remember seeing one play action roll out against the Giants that worked beautifully, then never seeing it again. We have a strong running game and a short QB, PA bootlegs should be a staple of our passing game. I know it’s boring, but I bet we would be much more consistent lining up under center, running the ball north-south, and building the pass off of the run using PA.
And we should throw out the section of the playbook with shotgun formation 5 step drop back passes, especially within 15 yards of either goal line. That was the cause of both of our turnovers.

I didn’t see a team that was unprepared, uninspired or not motivated to win. I see a bad QB and OL playing poorly and making bad decisions.
Agree, the team wants to win and the players are playing hard enough to. Our problem is bad pass protection by the OL and limited QB play compounded by horrible play calling that doesn’t take advantage of our strengths. We have a talent and strategy problem, not a motivation problem.

We could just stop calling them that and wipe all Commanders logos off merchandise. Essentially revert back to Washington Football and call it a day. The helmets can stay the same.
This makes the most sense. Wouldn’t have to change the logo or anything.

Maybe Heinicke had his eyes closed, seems like an easy TD if he cuts to the left at about the 2-3 yard line instead of beelining into a direct hit.
Maybe he saw 55 out of the corner of his eye and didn’t feel confident he could get around him?

Terri said the official indicated that he was set for the play. Said he ask the ref two times
If that’s the case the only option is the ref intentionally misled Terry during the most important play of the game.

Except for the first 2 games it was 8,10,17,12.
Yeah, as bad as our offense is now, I don’t think people remember how frustratingly inept our offense was under Wentz. It felt hopeless.

What I’ve been saying is, what if he didn’t say he was okay, and thought McLaurin was ignoring his instructions? A case of dumb miscommunication at an inopportune time. Who knows, I guess.Looks like the ref points at an angle, Terry moves up to where the ref pointed to, then the ref throws a flag.

That 3rd & 3 Samuel up the gut call.......
Hated that. We should have given at least half of Samuel’s plays to BRob.
Also hated lining up in shotgun formation in the red zone or when we’re backed up against our own goal line when BRob has been unstoppable all night. That cost us a sack/fumble resulting in a TD for the Giants.

Watching the illegal formation call video @Reaper Skins posted, it looks like Terry checked with the ref. When the ref pointed, his arm is at and angle vs. the line of scrimmage and Terry moves up to where the ref is pointing. Seems like it was some kind of miscommunication and Terry thought he was ok.
The frustrating thing about this penalty is it had nothing to do with the play.

I was shocked by the non-reaction by the team on that blatant pass interference non-call. It's f'n 4th down with the game on the line. You have to get up and plead your case when you have a legitimate right and make the refs own their screw up and AT LEAST try to pressure them into making that call.
I think the shock from the TD getting called back took the fight out of them

Of course they don't call a PI. Was it? I don't know. 50/50. But we NEVER EVER EVER get that call.
Pretty clearly was

LOTS of contact looks like DPI!?

Don’t see the penalty?

Turner’s play calling has been horrible. We should not be in shotgun formation within 15 yards of the goal on either side of the field.

Hoping St Juste is healthy, it doesn’t look like there’s any news one way or the other yet.

Giants are bad. They had some really lucky wins early on but are hitting major regression. They're improved over last year for sure, Daboll is a legit coach, but their roster is putrid outside of Barkley and a couple DL. If we were healthy on the OL and our TEs didn't poop the bed we win last week by double digits.
I think we win by double digits if St Juste was in the lineup instead of a rookie CB who was totally in over his head. Even with an unhealthy OL and TEs pooping the bed.

That's a big part of it. We've been mostly pretty boring since 2012. I do think we have some really fun exciting and likable individual players like McLaurin, Allen, Payne, etc. but its hard to get jazzed up over a run first defensive team that caps out at ~20 PPG.
No, I don’t think so, and the number of points don’t matter, in fact I think people actually like a close lowish scoring game when it ends in victory. I easily get jazzed by a run first defensive team when we win. We just haven’t had an effective run first defensive team until recently, and that’s been the problem. I remember yelling at the screen the past few years when we would hand it off for 1 yard on first down to start every series. The. It’s 2nd and 9, ugh. That’s what people don’t like. However I think people love when you gain 4-5 to make it 2nd and 6 and occasionally pop one for 15-20 yards like we have been doing this year. Now if we had consistent QB play to augment our style of football and push games from a coin flip to confidence, people would be back in the stadium.
The point is, consistent winning is what matters. We’re not consistent winners, so people aren’t going to spend their Sunday going to a game when they could be doing other things with their life.

I feel the opposite. For the first time they didnt have everything go their way like they have over their run and what a surprise they didnt win vs a bad team. It wasnt even a game where everything went against them either.
I don’t know, I think they may have won by two scores if St Juste was in the game and Holmes wasn’t. St Juste may have picked off the long past where Holmes got beat (Holmes was even in good position to go for a pick before he stumbled). If St Juste is back after the bye I feel very good about our chances.

We’re most likely done for the year, and I’m not even expecting a win, but please please please no more shotgun formation blind side strip sacks or draw play to Samuel blown up in the backfield. If we’re going to lose, I want to lose running the ball with dignity.
That’s all I ask.
