    Look I get that the US isn’t awesome at nation building, bad at war? I’ve heard a lot of wild statements but BAD AT WAR? 

    The US is not necessarily bad at nation building either, Japan and Germany became two economic powerhouses with our help in the decades after WWII. We didn’t replicate that level of success in Iraq, and it was a rough journey, but in the end Iraq is a functional, relatively peaceful country that isn’t threatening its neighbors with invasion anymore. Afghanistan is obviously an F on our nation building report card and it’s clear in retrospect that the US was the only thing holding the tribes together and propping up the government.

    Influence from Iran makes sense to me. I’m also wondering if they thought they could avoid retaliation if they took enough hostages as insurance. Perhaps the Hamas leadership wanted some death, destruction, and prisoners to exchange or use as shields, but they underestimated the horror their cohorts would display to Israel and the world. So they may have made a miscalculation and overplayed the terror hand. It’s not like they have individual control over the actions of every individual.

    This has been going on for 75 years since the birth of Israel and will be going on for another 75 years.

     

    Only way thus ends is one side completely wiping out the other side.

    This is the sad reality and fundamental problem. Two groups of people who are not willing to coexist are claiming the same piece of land as their own. One will have to wipe and/or push the other out.

    I haven't won the lottery.  But as one of the few here who is truly financially secure enough to only work if they want to, I will say it gets old not working.  I haven't figured which path I'm going down, but just doing whatever hobby I feel like that day is going to be ending sooner or later. 

    Yeah getting bored would be my struggle too. I think I’d continue my current career because I love what I do, invest most of the winnings, buy a house with cash in a good neighborhood, and enjoy a life of working because I want to, not because I need to.

    “She saw a number of dead and injured people on the sides of the road, but one stuck with her. 

    Another video shows that scene: one concertgoer was shot dead outside a van, and another dead in the passenger seat of the vehicle. 

    Gibly confirmed video obtained by CNN of the scene showed the two victims that she saw. 

    “It was so terrifying and we didn’t know where to drive to not meet those evil…people,” she said. “I have a lot of friends that got lost at the forest for a lot of hours and got shot like it was a range.”

    Could be… the first half felt like someone put NyQuil in their Gatorade. I’ve never seen a team look so flat all at the same time.
